Envisionit, an award-winning digital marketing agency based in Chicago, is hiring a Senior Media Planner to own tactical execution for one of our tourism accounts. This role is the accuracy backstop between strategy and execution: if a number, spec, or deadline is off, you're the one who catches it before it reaches a client or a vendor. You'll join a team of strategists, creatives, and data nerds who genuinely like working together, push each other to do better work, and don't take themselves too seriously while doing it.

We are headquartered in Chicago and have a beautiful office overlooking Millennium Park and Lake Michigan, operating under a hybrid work model (2-3 days in-office/week).

The Senior Media Planner turns approved strategy into detailed, accurate media plans, budgets, and flighting, then keeps every version airtight as the campaign runs. You'll report to the Media Director, own day-to-day plan and budget management independently, and know exactly when a scope or strategy question needs to go up the chain.

Key Functions:

  • Build, own, and maintain tactical media plans (channels, budgets, and flighting) that translate strategy into executable campaigns
  • Manage working media budgets and create MAFs with full accuracy, from initial allocation through every revision
  • Prepare plans, specs, and documentation for clean handoff to creative, account/PM, and vendor teams
  • Proactively update plans for performance, optimizations, scope changes, and stakeholder feedback
  • Partner with creative, strategy, DNA, account, and project management to keep plans aligned and quality-controlled
  • Approve media invoices, verify accuracy, and reconcile the flowchart and budget tracker to the approved plan each month
  • Manage specs, the Creative Calendar, and materials tracking - chasing down anything late, wrong, or unapproved
  • Negotiate annual vendor contracts (OOH, broadcast, airport) and secure performance metrics for custom placements

What we're looking for:

  • 4-8 years in media planning or account-side media execution, ideally on a tourism, travel, or other fast-moving, multi-market account
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining media flowcharts, budgets, and flighting across multiple channels
  • A sharp eye for detail, confidence in being the last check before a plan or invoice goes out the door
  • Experience with MAFs, invoice reconciliation, and monthly budget tracking
  • A track record of negotiating vendor contracts (OOH, broadcast, airport, or similar) and holding vendors to performance metrics
  • A strong cross-functional collaborator, used to working closely with creative, strategy, account, and project management
  • Comfort owning a workstream independently, with good judgment on when an issue needs to be escalated vs. resolved directly

Perks, Salary & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 USD. This is a good-faith estimate of the base pay scale for this position and any potential offers will ultimately be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and performance in the interview process.

Our benefits include:

  • A hybrid office model, with the option to WFH 2+ days/week
  • A minimum of 20 days off yearly + 12 company holidays + summer hours
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability Insurance
  • Employer-matched 401k
  • Transit benefits, corporate discount programs, free fitness center membership
  • Career pathing, dedicated budget towards opportunities for professional growth
  • A culture focused on collaboration, curiosity & support, with regular events, volunteerism, and an employee-led recognition program
