The Opportunity:

Mesirow is an independent, employee-owned financial services firm founded in 1937. Headquartered in Chicago, with offices around the world, we serve clients through a personal, custom approach to reaching financial goals and acting as a force for social good. With capabilities spanning Private Capital & Currency, Capital Markets & Investment Banking, and Advisory Services, we invest in what matters: our clients, our communities and our culture. We are proud of our employee-owned culture, built on collaboration and shared success, empowering our professionals to develop meaningful relationships, pursue growth opportunities and make a lasting impact for our clients and communities. Mesirow has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Chicago by Crain’s Chicago Business multiple times and is one of Barron’s Top 100 RIA firms.

The Front Barnett investment counseling team is headquartered in Chicago, part of Mesirow Financial Services, managing approximately $1.5 billion in discretionary client assets. Portfolios are invested primarily in high-quality, marketable, large-cap equities and investment-grade fixed income securities (BBB or better), with modest allocations to small-cap and international (developed and emerging) equities. Equity exposure is balanced between growth and value investments.

Investment decisions are driven by proprietary, internally generated research. Portfolio construction and security selection are determined collaboratively by senior members of the investment team, guided by a centrally managed model account. Our investment approach is long-term, tax-aware, and cost-conscious, with an emphasis on low turnover.

Independent consultants consistently rate our equity and fixed-income performance as competitive. The firm serves high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families across 26 states, many spanning multiple generations. Portfolio managers provide a high level of personalized service, including collateral advice related to tax, estate, and business planning.

To support future growth and long-term continuity, we are seeking to add a Senior Portfolio Manager to our investment team.
