About Balor Games

Balor Games is a "Triple I" independent game publisher dedicated to long-term stewardship of high-quality creative works. Formed by former leaders of Humble Games, Balor Games oversees an expansive catalog of acclaimed indie games, following the acquisition of the Humble Games and Firestoke catalogs.
Balor Games aims to serve as a cultural curator for independent games, while providing expertise, resources, and belief-driven support to visionary developers.

Position Overview
  • Collaborate with our development partners and manage a set of in-market premium games that have content release roadmaps.

    • Collaborate with the developers around content strategies and roadmap prioritization.

    • Work with internal business development to explore additional opportunities for the titles such as platform expansion or new partnerships.

    • Build a transition strategy for a select set of titles to ensure a smooth, thorough hand-off from development partners to Balor Games.

    • Several titles are based on existing, high-quality IPs and require collaboration between Balor, the developers, and the IP holders.

  • Seeking a proactive, strategic contract producer with deep game fluency, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication to drive project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day production across a defined set of existing games for the duration of the engagement.

  • Create, socialize, and maintain production plans (sources of truth, timelines, budgets, etc.) that are contextually relevant to each title.

  • Review roadmaps and milestones to assess status, quality, velocity, and overall project health.

  • Project manage publishing services needs such as console porting, localization, QA, and more.

  • Coordinate with marketing and comms to set projects up for continued success in the market.

  • Keep leadership up to date on critical topics across projects, and sunshine challenges quickly with solutions in mind.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of game production experience; publishing-side experience highly ideal.

  • Shipped at least two titles as a development producer, or more as a publishing producer.

  • Experience working on titles using external IP and interfacing with IP holders.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; you genuinely enjoy keeping things tidy and on track.

  • Strong fluency and knowledge around game development and publishing.

  • Strong fluency around project budgeting.

  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain internal and external partnerships.

  • Comfortable with daily context switching between multiple projects.

  • Self-motivated, with experience working both independently and on a team, while being comfortable with ambiguity and shifting release requirements.

  • Strong record of managing multiple deliverables simultaneously.

  • JIRA, Confluence, Airtable, and common production tooling knowledge.

  • A true passion for video games and the developers who make them.

Nice to Have
  • Experience working with indie game developers.

  • Experience working on VR games.

  • Fluency and knowledge of the overall game market and trends.
