Senior Product Manager: Applied AI

Introduction

The Zebra revolutionizes how connected consumers research and shop for insurance. We intentionally strive to build diverse teams that feel inclusive for all. Our motto is "All Stripes Welcome," and we put that into practice by valuing both traditional and non-conventional backgrounds and perspectives. Our Zeebs are passionate about learning, growing, and working together to tackle exciting problems.

Our Product Team is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Product Manager to join our Applied AI pod. In this individual contributor role, your mission is to identify core user problems, design smart AI-driven solutions, and partner daily with engineering and design to build, test, and ship features that directly impact user experience and key business metrics.

This role sits at a unique intersection: you will own a dedicated roadmap for zero-to-one AI features while also collaborating with consumer-facing PMs across other verticals (such as our primary conversion funnel) to embed applied AI capabilities into their flows. Operating on a fast-moving pod, you will utilize rapid prototyping and modern AI-assisted development workflows to turn concepts into production-ready features at high velocity.

Reporting directly to the Director of Product, Applied AI, you will help lead the discipline of AI-driven product strategy across the organization.

Location

Our employees can choose to work remotely in the U.S. Join us in our Austin, Texas office, or opt for a hybrid setup. Whether you prefer the structure of an office, the convenience of remote work, or a mix of both, we support what works best for you.

Please note: At this time we are not able to hire in Massachusetts.

What You’ll Do

  • Own & Execute the AI Roadmap: Define, prioritize, and deliver product strategies and user-facing features that natively leverage AI to simplify insurance shopping.

  • Rapid Prototyping & Experimentation: Lead end-to-end execution through fast feedback loops, running live user tests, interactive prototypes, and hypothesis-driven A/B experiments to evaluate feasibility and impact.

  • Work Daily with AI-Assisted Workflows: Partner closely with engineering teams using AI-assisted coding and development tools to dramatically accelerate release cycles from idea to implementation.

  • Deliver Embedded & Standalone Impact: Drive standalone AI initiatives while partnering across cross-functional product pods to deploy personalized AI engines, dynamic discovery tools, or conversational interfaces across core consumer touchpoints.

  • Measure Outcomes rigorously: Define primary and secondary success metrics for every release, evaluating outcomes through quantitative data analytics and qualitative discovery.

  • Maintain 360-Degree Alignment: Communicate plans, progress, technical trade-offs, and post-launch learnings clearly to cross-functional partners and executive stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in consumer-facing product management, with a track record of driving measurable business outcomes.

  • Direct hands-on experience building, testing, and shipping consumer features powered by modern AI, machine learning models, or personalized automation.

  • Proven experience operating in fast-paced, iterative environments with a high bias for action and rapid experimentation.

  • Comfort incorporating modern AI tools directly into your daily PM workflow ( discovery, spec writing, wireframing, data analysis).

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with deep experience setting up feature tracking and reading experiment results.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex technical trade-offs for cross-functional partners.

Experience That Will Impress the Heck Out of Us

  • Experience working on zero-to-one product initiatives, innovation labs, or incubator pods.

  • Practical familiarity with modern developer AI tools, LLM architectures, prompt engineering/orchestration, or modern AI agents.

  • Background in high-growth, transactional consumer platforms (fintech, insuretech, or complex marketplace environments).

Shared Benefits & Perks

  • Inclusive and healthy environments are crafted intentionally. All of our employees can join and participate in (or create your own) Employee Resource Groups.

  • Competitive Compensation & Stock Option Offering

  • Health, Dental, Vision & Disability Coverages

  • End early Fridays

  • Sabbatical program for tenured employees

  • HSA offering plus employer contribution

  • Fertility support through Carrot

  • $100 monthly wellness perk

  • $300 pet reimbursement program

  • 401k with match

  • Unlimited PTO plus flexibility to enjoy it

  • Paid Parental Leave Program

  • Learning and Development Opportunities

The target base salary for this role is $170,000 - $200,000. The final salary amount will be determined based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal equity, and insights gained throughout the interview process.
