RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform Strategy & Vision (35%)

  • Own the product roadmap for Nextpoint’s core platform — including data ingestion and processing, storage, security, identity, APIs, and shared infrastructure — aligning it with business objectives and application team needs
  • Define and communicate the platform vision and strategy as the foundation that enables every Nextpoint product
  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for foundational capabilities (cloud services, AI/ML infrastructure, data pipelines, observability tooling)
  • Partner with executive and engineering leadership to prioritize platform investments based on business impact, reliability risk, and engineering velocity
  • Develop business cases and ROI analyses that connect platform work to outcomes like COGS improvement, feature velocity, reliability, performance, and security posture

Internal Customer & Market Insights (25%)

  • Engage directly with internal customers — application PMs, engineering teams, SRE, and security — to understand their workflows, constraints, and unmet needs
  • Synthesize feedback from application teams, support, and customer success to identify where platform limitations are blocking product delivery
  • Analyze platform telemetry (performance, error rates, usage patterns, unit economics) to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Stay current on cloud architecture, AI/ML infrastructure, data privacy, and security/compliance trends relevant to legal tech (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR)
  • Translate complex technical, security, and compliance requirements into clear platform specifications

Product Development & Execution (30%)

  • Write user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for platform engineering teams, including API contracts and SLOs
  • Work closely with engineering on system design decisions, managing trade-offs between velocity, reliability, scalability, and cost
  • Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews
  • Make data-driven prioritization decisions and manage scope to meet release commitments
  • Coordinate with QA and SRE to define test plans, SLOs, and operational readiness criteria
  • Drive successful platform launches including migration plans, internal enablement, deprecation strategies, and downstream customer communications

Cross-Functional Leadership (10%)

  • Partner with application product teams to ensure the platform roadmap unblocks and accelerates their roadmaps
  • Enable internal customers with clear documentation, APIs, and self-service tooling
  • Collaborate with security, legal, and compliance on certifications, audits, and data privacy requirements
  • Work with finance and infrastructure partners on cloud cost optimization and capacity planning
  • Represent the platform team in architectural reviews, cross-team planning, and select customer or industry conversations

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with at least 2 years focused on platform, infrastructure, developer tools, APIs, or internal services
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Deep understanding of modern cloud architecture (ideally AWS), distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery, legal tech, or adjacent regulated domains (fintech, healthtech, govtech) a strong plus
  • Strong technical aptitude — comfortable working directly with senior engineers on system design, performance, and scalability
  • Demonstrated success shipping platform capabilities that unlocked measurable improvements in engineering velocity, reliability, cost, or security
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience using telemetry, cost data, and usage metrics to inform prioritization
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical trade-offs for executive audiences and evangelize platform work internally

BENEFITS & PERKS
  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
  • Flexible hybrid schedule (2–3 days onsite)
  • Comprehensive health coverage — medical (BCBS PPO and HDHP/HSA options), dental and vision (Guardian)
  • Health, Dependent, and Transit FSA
  • Generous PTO, paid holidays, flexible summer hours, quarterly mental health days, and floating holidays
  • Annual professional development stipend
  • Monthly flexible benefit stipend
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Free in-office lunch Tuesday–Thursday
  • And more!
