Nymbus (nymbus.com) isn’t just a leader in fintech — we’re a community of innovators passionate about reimagining banking. Our modern core platform and cloud-based technology empower financial institutions of all sizes to evolve, scale, and deliver exceptional experiences to their customers.
We operate with an AI-first mindset across every function in the business — continuously improving how we work and increasing the value we deliver to clients. This is not a tagline. Through Project Firehorse, we are actively rebuilding how delivery, implementation, and operations work at Nymbus from the ground up, replacing manual coordination with intelligent, automated systems.
We are looking for individuals who are curious, accountable, and genuinely excited to work differently. If you want to be part of building something that others in the industry will look to as a model, this is where you do it.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Nymbus is a remote-first organization. This role is fully remote with occasional travel required for client onsite sessions, team collaboration, and implementation milestones. Client-facing travel is a real part of this role — you should be comfortable representing Nymbus in high-stakes client environments.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is not a traditional Project Manager role.
Nymbus is mid-transformation through Project Firehorse, a company-wide initiative to make our delivery organization AI-native. Senior Project Managers at Nymbus are expected to be at the front of that change, not waiting for it to arrive.
You will manage complex, high-stakes implementations while simultaneously helping to build the AI-powered workflows, automation, and tooling that make the next generation of delivery faster and more reliable.
The right person for this role is a delivery leader who is also a builder. You’re not satisfied with maintaining a project plan — you’re asking how to make that plan generate itself. You use Kiro, Claude, and other AI tools daily, not occasionally. And when you see a process that still relies on manual coordination, your instinct is to eliminate it.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN:
Delivery Leadership
- Own end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent, complex implementations — core conversions, digital banking launches, and multi-vendor integration programs.
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder alignment without waiting for direction. You are the decision-maker in your projects.
- Build and maintain RAID logs, project charters, go-live readiness assessments, and executive status reporting that are genuinely useful — not compliance artifacts.
- Lead client-facing delivery conversations at all levels, from working sessions with technical teams to executive steering committees.
- Escalate risks early and with a recommended path forward — not just a flag.
- Partner with account management to protect client relationships during delivery complexity.
AI-First Execution
- Use AI tools (Kiro, Claude, and others) as active parts of your daily workflow — for generating implementation plans, drafting client communications, analyzing project data, diagnosing issues, and producing status artifacts.
- Participate actively in Project Firehorse: share what’s working, contribute to shared tooling and playbooks, and help the team move from manual coordination to automated delivery.
- Identify manual, repetitive tasks in your own workflows and find ways to eliminate or automate them. Document and share what you build.
- Contribute to the development of AI-assisted RAID logs, predictive go-live risk scoring, and automated deployment readiness frameworks.
- Use Kiro and MCP integrations (Jira, Confluence, GitLab) to accelerate issue diagnosis, release tracking, and cross-team coordination.
Process & Operational Excellence
- Maintain and improve PMO standards, templates, and delivery procedures — with an eye toward what can be automated rather than just documented.
- Instrument your projects to generate useful data signals: what predicts go-live risk, where implementations stall, and what clients consistently struggle with.
- Build implementation playbooks from your delivery experience that can be reused, refined, and eventually AI-generated.
- Partner with the Director, Delivery Program Manager to evolve the delivery operating model as Firehorse matures.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In 90 days:
- You have taken full ownership of your assigned implementations and stakeholders know exactly who you are.
- You are using Kiro and AI tools daily and have shared at least one meaningful win with the team.
- You have identified at least one process in your workflow you are actively working to automate.
- Your status reports are clean, honest, and require no editing before reaching leadership.
At Full Velocity:
- Your implementations run with less manual coordination than when you inherited them.
- Clients describe you as the most organized, proactive PM they’ve worked with.
- You have contributed meaningfully to Firehorse playbooks, tooling, or automation that others now use.
- You are escalating risks earlier and with better-framed options than the prior standard.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 5+ years of project management experience in financial technology, banking, or a complex enterprise software delivery environment.
- Demonstrated experience owning large, multi-stakeholder implementation programs end-to-end — not supporting them.
- Experience with core banking conversions, digital banking launches, or multi-vendor integration programs strongly preferred.
- Active, hands-on use of AI tools in your daily work — you can describe specifically what you have built or automated, not just that you “use AI.”
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — you write status updates that executives actually read, and you run meetings that end with decisions.
- Ability to manage ambiguity without losing momentum. You define the path when there isn’t one.
- Experience working directly with clients at senior levels under high-stakes conditions.
Preferred:
- PMP certification and/or Agile/Scrum certification.
- Experience with Kiro, Claude, or other AI-assisted delivery tools.
- Familiarity with Jira, Smartsheet, or equivalent project tooling at an administrative level.
- Background in fintech, SaaS, or regulated financial services environments.
- Experience contributing to PMO methodology development, playbook creation, or delivery tooling.

THE NYMBUS STANDARD
Nymbus is in the middle of a transformation that will redefine how implementation delivery works in financial technology. Senior Project Managers hired into this team are expected to be leaders of that change — not observers of it.
That means: master the new tools (training is provided, adoption is expected). Use AI to accelerate rigorous work, not bypass it. Build near-production quality outputs, not artifacts that require full rebuilds. Share what you learn — wins, failures, and experiments belong to the whole team. When something isn’t working, name it early. Stay focused on client outcomes. That is the standard everything else is measured against.
We are not asking for perfection. We are asking for full engagement.
