About This Role
Crunchafi is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and evolve the full-stack systems that power our platform. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who moves fluidly between backend APIs and frontend UI, takes ownership of reliability and delivery, and treats AI as a first-class engineering tool. You will work across C# .NET APIs, modern web frontends, and Azure PaaS infrastructure, shipping features and capabilities that directly impact thousands of accounting professionals every day.
We expect our engineers to work with agentic AI tools like Claude Code and OpenAI Codex that write, reason about, and refactor code alongside you. It also means building product features where AI agents do real work: multi-step reasoning, document processing, tool calling, and autonomous task execution.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across our C# .NET Core backend services and modern web frontend applications
- Integrate AI capabilities into product features using Azure OpenAI Service and related Azure AI services, including document intelligence, semantic search, and LLM-driven workflows
- Use agentic development tools (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, and similar) as primary instruments for writing, reviewing, and refactoring code
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to enable safe, reliable, and repeatable deployments
- Design and optimize data access patterns against Azure SQL using Entity Framework Core and raw SQL where performance demands it
- Contribute to platform observability and instrumenting services with App Insights, Seq, and structured logging to support fast diagnosis and resolution
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and blameless post-incident reviews when production issues arise
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Quality to deliver well-rounded, high-quality features.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical craft
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful tenure in senior or lead roles
- Strong command of C# and the .NET ecosystem (.NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core)
- Hands-on experience building production web frontend applications (component architecture, state management, and integration with REST APIs)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Azure PaaS services: App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, Blob Storage, and Azure Monitor / App Insights
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI capabilities into production software including agentic patterns such as multi-step LLM workflows, tool calling, or RAG via Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI services, or comparable platforms
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern deployment patterns
- Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable owning technical decisions and explaining tradeoffs clearly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in accounting, financial services, or B2B SaaS
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code using ARM templates and Bicep
- Familiarity with microservices and event-driven architecture patterns
- Background in chaos engineering, load testing, or capacity planning
- Experience with security hardening, SOC 2 compliance, or regulated environments
- Azure certifications (AZ-204, AZ-400, or equivalent) are a plus
