POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Software Engineer is a hands-on Data Services engineering position that has a full range of responsibilities to build, evolve and support a host of integration and data services initiatives at Cryoport Systems through a strong understanding of algorithm, API design, data structure and cloud architecture. From incorporating cutting edge technologies to designing robust customer-centric integration solutions that scale, the Senior Software Engineer will rely on a skill set that includes Ruby on Rails, Java, MySql. This position plays an integral role supporting our team, products, clients, and company as we grow our SaaS based offerings. This role supports our Consulting Services Data Services offerings and supports a variety of client and internal facing projects. The role will also involve deep collaboration with our fast growing Consulting Services team as well as our clients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
• Be the primary development and support for Data Services offerings.
• Design and implement REST APIs
• Learn our cloud-based application and our human business process.
• Reduce risk by identifying a portion of the application code that can modularized into its own service; set up an API between that service and the main application.
• Convert product backlog into implemented features.
• Support Data Services clients with sandbox configuration and access, configuration of data services, custom integration activities, and validating data and software integrity
• Ability to manage project activities – including supporting client integration scoping to deployment of customized software, APIs and services.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• B.S in Computer Science or equivalent degree (Required) / M.S in Computer Science (preferred)
• 4-6 years as a full-stack software developer using Ruby on Rails
• 3+ year(s) architecting, implementing, and maintaining REST API clients and a REST API server.
• 3+ year(s) architecting, implementing, and maintaining 100,000+ lines of code web applications using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript (React, Node, jQuery), HTML, CSS, and MySQL.

PREFERRED SKILLS
