The Role

We are looking for a Senior Solutions Architect with deep FinOps and cloud optimization expertise.

This role sits within one of Virtasant's highest-impact customer engagements and requires someone who can confidently work with senior stakeholders, analyze complex cloud environments, and lead initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce spend.

This is not a generic cloud architecture role. The strongest candidates have real experience leading cloud cost optimization programs, understand the technical drivers behind cloud spend, and can connect architecture decisions to financial outcomes.

What You'll DoFinOps & Cloud Optimization
  • Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives across large enterprise environments

  • Identify waste, inefficiencies, and architectural opportunities for improvement

  • Design governance frameworks that sustain long-term cloud efficiency

  • Analyze cloud usage patterns and spending trends

  • Partner with engineering teams to implement optimization recommendations

Data & Analytics
  • Work with cloud cost and usage data at scale

  • Design and optimize reporting, analytics, and decision-support systems

  • Build insights that drive cost optimization decisions

  • Collaborate with customers on cloud financial visibility initiatives

Client Advisory
  • Work directly with customer stakeholders

  • Lead discovery sessions and optimization reviews

  • Present recommendations to technical and business audiences

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with customers

Technical Leadership
  • Guide engineering and data teams

  • Establish best practices around cloud efficiency

  • Mentor team members

  • Drive architecture decisions that improve both technical and financial outcomes

What We're Looking ForNon-Negotiables
  • Demonstrated FinOps experience

  • Proven cloud cost optimization experience

  • Strong AWS experience

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Strong Python skills

  • Customer-facing consulting experience

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly

  • Experience driving measurable cost reduction initiatives

Important: Candidates who have cloud experience but cannot demonstrate meaningful FinOps experience will not be considered.
