Key Responsibilities:
May carry out complex or novel research assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Guide, develop and mentor other engineers and analysts in analysis and advanced problem solving methods. Is active in the establishment of design and analysis standards. Teach and mentor levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 engineers and analysts in analysis and problem solving methods.
Develop/improve techniques and tools to assist project and design engineering. Oversees, edits, compiles contributions from other analysts.
Creates analysis models to support robust and reliable designs. Validate model results against test data, identify any significant differences and source. Develop standard modeling methods to close any significant gaps. Work with test engineering to better align test and analysis methods and results.
Demonstrates awareness of multiple and conflicting customer requirements and defines analysis objectives which specifically addresses the requirements and verifies compliance and balance.
Key Skills:
Strong knowledge of standards and the ability to apply complex groupings of standards into designs. Ability to quickly learn, interpret and apply new standards. May contribute to industry standards
Complete understanding of component functions and testing requirements. Ability to interpret engineering data and drawings pertinent to focus role area
Provides necessary guidance for proper usage of tools. Solid use of DFSS tools and methodologies; Solid knowledge of engineering quality systems (examples: PLC, engineering change, configuration management). Supports Enterprise-wide process improvements
Effective time management skills. Able to manage multiple activities and competing priorities and long-term corporate vision
Has company recognized expertise and may have industry recognized expertise
Highly refined written/verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability in giving presentations; expert technical writing skills (procedures, reports, etc.). Represents Woodward in the industry.
Aligns with Woodward's business objectives and strategies; ability to balance activities which can result in significant financial impact
May lead small project teams. Participates in setting technical direction. Provides technical problem-solving guidance to others
Can evaluate/validate multiple tools and methodologies to effectively solve complex technical problems. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerances as well as shop standards and procedures. Knowledge of the interaction of processes and environmental factors on the physical behavior of materials
May lead or oversee special investigations or projects to develop analytical approaches to technical problems.

4 Year Bachelors BS AND 12+ years applicable experience
International - Bachelors BS/University degree equivalent by Country AND 12+ years applicable experience
