Senior Test Engineer
Job Summary
Wilder Systems builds robots that do precision work across aerospace manufacturing and MRO — drilling, fastening, sanding, and inspection — on systems deployed to factory floors and flight lines worldwide. As a Senior Test Engineer, you own the test strategy for a system: how we prove it works before it ships and keep it working in the field. You define test requirements across components, design the fixtures and instrumentation that expose failures, drive mechanical and electromechanical issues to root cause, and mentor the test engineers around you — working across the robotics mechanical, electrical, and hardware teams on real hardware.
What You'll Do

  • Test strategy & requirements — own the test strategy and requirements for a system, across its mechanical and electromechanical components.
  • Test fixtures & instrumentation — design and build the test fixtures, rigs, and data-acquisition/instrumentation setups (load cells, strain gauges, sensors, DAQ) that measure performance and catch failures before they reach the field.
  • Functional, structural & environmental testing — define and run functional, tolerance, durability/fatigue, and environmental tests, and troubleshoot mechanical-hardware failures to root cause with the mechanical, electrical, and hardware teams.
  • Test documentation & reporting — own the test plans, procedures, and result reports for each release, in collaboration with the engineering teams.
  • Technical leadership — set the quality bar, own test requirements across components, and mentor Test Engineer I and II through test design and review.

Required Experience
  • A track record owning test strategy for a mechanical or electromechanical system or product end-to-end.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing test fixtures, rigs, and instrumentation for physical systems.
  • Deep experience with functional, structural/fatigue, tolerance, and environmental testing of complex hardware.
  • Hands-on debugging of mechanical and electromechanical integration issues on real hardware.
  • Solid fundamentals in measurement and data acquisition: instrumentation, sensors, calibration, and interpreting test data.
  • A track record setting test requirements and mentoring other test engineers.

Preferred Experience
  • Testing robotics, industrial automation, or other cyber-physical systems.
  • Precision machinery, motion systems, or actuation.
  • Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test development.
  • Metrology, GD&T, and dimensional inspection.
  • Tolerance stack-up analysis and mechanical failure analysis.
  • Comfort with scripting or test-automation tools for data acquisition and analysis (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, or light Python) — a plus, not a requirement.
  • Familiarity with the domains under test — motion, calibration, precision machining, and fastening.

Travel
Up to 25% for system deployments, on-site integration, and customer support.
Work Location
In person — Oklahoma City, OK.
Compensation
$100,000 – $120,000
