Job Summary
Insightsoftware is seeking a Senior UI Engineer to serve as the front-end technical foundation of the newly established UX team within the Certent Equity Management (CEM) product organization. Reporting to the UX Manager, Equity, this role will own the engineering implementation and governance of the CEM Design System, including its component library, design token architecture, Storybook documentation, and front-end standards.
Working in close partnership with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Engineering, this individual will establish the technical foundation that enables teams to build consistent, accessible, and maintainable user experiences across the CEM platform.
This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about UI quality, enjoys collaborating with designers, and has deep experience building enterprise Angular applications using modern component-based architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Design System Architecture & Ownership
Own the technical implementation and evolution of the CEM Design System built on PrimeNG and Angular.
Extend and customize PrimeNG components to create a branded, enterprise-ready component library aligned with UX standards.
Define and maintain design token implementation, theming architecture, accessibility standards, and reusable UI patterns.
Establish component APIs and implementation guidelines that encourage consistency and reuse across engineering teams.
Build, version, and publish shared UI components for consumption across multiple product teams.
Partner with UX to ensure design decisions are accurately represented within the component library.
Storybook Ownership
Own the Storybook environment as the authoritative documentation site for reusable UI components.
Develop comprehensive component documentation including usage guidance, interaction states, accessibility considerations, and implementation examples.
Integrate Storybook into the CI/CD pipeline to automate publishing and validation.
Implement visual regression testing using Chromatic or comparable tooling to identify UI regressions before release.
Establish documentation standards and contribution guidelines for engineering teams.
Front-End Engineering
Lead implementation of complex Angular UI features using reusable design system components.
Collaborate with UX Designers during discovery and design handoff to ensure designs are technically feasible and efficiently implemented.
Participate in sprint planning, estimation, technical design reviews, and architecture discussions.
Promote component reuse and reduce duplication across applications.
Review pull requests for UI quality, accessibility, and adherence to design system standards.
Design System Governance
Establish front-end standards covering accessibility, component usage, styling conventions, testing, and documentation.
Maintain WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across reusable components.
Define contribution workflows for new components and enhancements.
Partner with Engineering leadership to evolve the design system roadmap.
Support adoption of the design system through documentation, code reviews, and mentoring
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the primary engineering partner to the UX team.
Translate design intent into scalable Angular component implementations.
Provide technical guidance during UX discovery and feature planning.
Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to balance user experience, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.
Participate in design reviews and release validation to ensure implementation quality.
Required Qualifications
Experience
5+ years of front-end engineering experience building enterprise SaaS applications.
Extensive experience developing production applications with Angular.
Experience extending enterprise UI component libraries such as PrimeNG, Angular Material, or similar frameworks.
Experience building or maintaining enterprise design systems and reusable component libraries.
Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation platforms.
Strong collaboration skills working with UX Designers and Product Managers.
Technical Proficiency
Expert knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Angular Signals, Angular CDK, and standalone components.
Experience with PrimeNG (or similar design system) customization, theming, and component extension.
Strong understanding of reusable component architecture and design system implementation.
Experience with design tokens and modern theming approaches.
Expert-level Storybook experience, including documentation, MDX, add-ons, and Chromatic integration.
Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and accessible component development.
Experience with modern front-end tooling including Angular CLI, ESLint, Prettier, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience publishing and versioning shared component libraries using semantic versioning.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience considered
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building enterprise design systems for financial services, ERP, or other complex SaaS platforms.
Experience implementing design token workflows using tools such as Tokens Studio or Style Dictionary.
Experience publishing private component libraries using GitHub Packages or similar registries.
Familiarity with Figma component libraries and design token workflows.
Experience implementing visual regression testing using Chromatic or comparable tools.
Experience contributing to front-end architecture during large-scale application modernization initiatives.
Experience evaluating and adopting AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) to improve front-end development productivity while maintaining code quality, accessibility, and design system consistency.
The salary range in United States of America for this position is 111,000.00 to 139,000.00 USD Annual.
Your specific offer within this range will be determined by your skills, experience, and qualifications. For non-sales roles, you may be eligible for a bonus. For sales roles, this range includes a commission target.
