When you’re the best, we’re the best. We instill an environment where employees feel engaged, satisfied and able to contribute their unique skills and talents while living and working as their authentic selves. We provide extensive opportunities for personal and professional development, building both employee competence and organizational capability to fuel exceptional performance through an inclusive environment both now and in the future.

Owns Vizient's strategy for trusted, reusable information assets. As enterprise leader for MDM, this executive defines the vision, operating model, and stewardship approach that keep critical data consistent and usable across Vizient's products, operations, and business functions.

Serves the whole enterprise, partnering with Data & Digital, Spend Management, Consulting, and shared services and is accountable for measurable outcomes: customer value, operational efficiency, and positioning Vizient as a thought leader in healthcare data standards and ontology.

MDM is a shared capability that succeeds through influence, not centralized ownership. Sets the strategy and operating model that keep information assets trustworthy and consistent enterprise-wide, while business functions retain ownership of their domain data. That requires close partnership with Platform Product Management and Engineering on the MDM platform roadmap, Enterprise Data Governance on policy execution, Product Strategy on integrated solutions, and business units on shared standards.

Align business, operations, governance, and technology around a common vision for enterprise data, building a trusted foundation of computable enterprise data assets with clear ownership and decision rights. Central to Vizient's ability to operate as a unified enterprise, delivering integrated client experiences, accelerating innovation, and strengthening the analytics and AI capabilities that underpin the company's long-term growth.

Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Develop and execute Vizient's long-term MDM strategy and roadmap, aligning it with corporate priorities and product innovation.

  • Set investment priorities and define measurable outcomes that maximize the value of enterprise data assets.

  • Serve as executive advisor on information strategy and organizational maturity, identifying opportunities that strengthen Vizient's competitive position.

Operating Model & Stewardship

  • Design and evolve the MDM operating model, defining ownership, stewardship, and decision rights across the enterprise.

  • Establish authoritative data domains and enterprise standards that balance consistency, scalability, and business flexibility.

  • Measure adoption, business impact, and maturity to drive continuous improvement.

Business Partnership & Alignment

  • Build strategic partnerships across Data & Digital, Spend Management, Consulting, and shared services to align data priorities with business strategy.

  • Partner with business leaders and SMEs to convert functional expertise into reusable enterprise data assets while preserving domain ownership.

  • Work with Platform Product Management and Engineering and executive leadership to ensure data capabilities support integrated solutions, product innovation, and commercialization.

Enterprise Enablement

  • Lead Vizient's MDM capability, partnering with Platform Product Management and Engineering on platform priorities and roadmap.

  • Partner with Enterprise Data Governance to translate policy into scalable stewardship practices, enabling business units through shared standards.

  • Promote interoperability and consistency across products, client solutions, and analytics.

Executive Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing team advancing Vizient's MDM strategy and capabilities.

  • Drive enterprise transformation through executive influence and change management across a matrixed organization.

  • Foster a culture of accountability and partnership that positions trusted data as a long-term competitive differentiator.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred.

  • Fifteen (15) or more years of progressive executive leadership experience in Enterprise Data Management, Master Data Management, Information Management, Data Strategy, or related disciplines.

  • Demonstrated success building enterprise capabilities and leading large-scale business transformation within complex, highly matrixed organizations.

  • Proven experience designing enterprise operating models that align business, technology, governance, and operational organizations around shared objectives while delivering measurable business outcomes.

  • Experience serving as the business leader for enterprise master data technology capabilities, partnering closely with engineering to deliver scalable platforms and drive organizational adoption.

  • Strong business, financial, and operational acumen with the ability to influence executive stakeholders, establish strategic partnerships, and lead through collaboration rather than direct organizational ownership.

  • Deep understanding of Enterprise Data Management, Master Data Management, stewardship, enterprise information architecture, hierarchy management, metadata, and data quality principles.

  • Exceptional communication and organizational leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams, align diverse stakeholders around a shared vision, and drive enterprise change.

  • Healthcare, healthcare analytics, supply chain, consulting, or technology-enabled services experience strongly preferred.
