What Is the Role

Elastic is seeking an SEO Strategist to support AI Visibility by delivering deep search and LLM performance insights that inform strategic decision-making. This role functions as a center of excellence for prompt research, performance analysis, and SEO/LLMO execution support.

You will partner closely with Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) and the leader of LLM Optimization to ensure Elastic’s messaging, content, and technical surfaces are discoverable, trusted, and accurately represented across traditional search engines and AI-powered answer engines.

This is a hands-on, highly analytical role ideal for someone who enjoys turning ambiguity into structured insight and enabling others to act decisively.

What You Will Be DoingProduct Marketing & LLMO Support
  • Support Product Marketing by conducting prompt research and customer question mapping aligned to go to market priorities and messaging frameworks.
  • Identify gaps where Elastic is underrepresented, misrepresented, or outperformed in LLM responses and organic search results.
  • Validate tracked prompts with PMMs to ensure alignment with approved positioning and customer scenarios.
Prompt Tracking & Performance Analysis
  • Implement and maintain prompt tracking in tools such as SEMrush, Profound, and LLM interfaces.
  • Build and maintain dashboards that surface:
    • Prompt-level visibility
    • Share of voice
    • Brand and competitor citations
    • Sentiment and narrative alignment
  • Establish baselines and trend analysis to measure progress over time.
Insights, Reporting, & Recommendations
  • Deliver monthly AI visibility and SEO performance reviews to Elastic’s leadership team, including clear insights and recommended actions.
  • Conduct quarterly content audits focused on:
    • Content decay
    • Overlap and cannibalization
    • Missing or weak assets
    • Technical SEO issues impacting discoverability
  • Translate findings into prioritized, actionable recommendations for content creation, refreshes, and optimization.
SEO Execution & Enablement
  • Provide content briefs that include:
    • Search intent and prompt alignment
    • Recommended structure and internal linking
    • Schema and technical guidance
  • Perform pre-publish SEO reviews and post-publish monitoring.
  • Partner with Web Engineering to ensure content is crawlable, accessible, and LLM-readable.
What You Bring
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally supporting B2B, developer-focused, or technical content.
  • Strong experience with SEO and LLM visibility tools (SEMrush, Profound, GSC, GA4, Botify, Screaming Frog).
  • Comfort working with ambiguous data and emerging measurement frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; able to clearly explain insights to non-SEO stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Marketing or content teams.
  • Comfort working in a fully distributed organization.

Bonus

  • Experience supporting LLMO or AEO initiatives.
  • Technical writing or documentation experience.
  • Familiarity with structured data and semantic search concepts.


Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

$128,200$202,700 USD
