Job Description

Role : SharePoint Admin

Experience required : 8-10 YEARS 

Mandatory Technical Skills        

This position is for a SharePoint Admin: Someone who understand the back-end of SharePoint, reading IIS logs, understands how to troubleshoot the application and who can explain how the application flows and functions.

Knowledge and experience with SharePoint 2010 is a must and with SharePoint 2013 a plus. Two or more years of experience implementing, supporting and administering a SharePoint farm. Individual also must be able to support a Windows Server 2008 environment with familiarity in installation, configuration and administration of Microsoft SharePoint solutions. Will be required to maintain, manage and report on the farm web front ends, applications, index, query and SQL servers in accordance with company best practices. Strong troubleshooting skills is mandatory

SharePoint Designer Workflow (highly Skilled)

- InfoPath forms (highly skilled)

- BCS/BDC

- Strong Server side troubleshooting of SharePoint (familiar with ULS, IIS and Window logs)

- Comprehensive SharePoint End User / Train the Trainer / Mentorship Training.

- Understanding of the SharePoint licensing model and application concepts.

- SharePoint Standard and Enterprise Feature experience.

- Minimum one year SharePoint Designer experience.

- Attentive to detail, patience and friendliness.

- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

- Ability to multi-task, innovation and resourcefulness.

- Customer focused.

- Strong Follow-up.

- Building partnerships and strong communication skills

- Willingness to share information.

Tasks to be performed  

Log all calls received and compile monthly stats on activity.

- Assist users with SharePoint support calls, e.g.: access issues, leveraging web parts.

- Error identification, investigation and resolution.

- Analyze requirements submitted to business, map and build on SharePoint.

- Identify new areas on an ongoing basis where SharePoint can be leveraged.

- Assist business with the migration of documents from file shares, other platforms or other SharePoint site collections.

- Design landing pages, site collections, lists, etc. for team sites on request from business.

- Review sites for excessive complexity and suggest streamlined alternatives to business.

- Monitor site usage and follow up on dormancy on a monthly basis – contact site owner to determine status of the project.

- Work closely with the development team to test, implement and deploy changes to the farm when necessary.

- Work with the business in the creation of AD security groups and/or configuring security based on best practices.

- Edit and customize pages and build workflows using SharePoint Designer.

- Identify new areas on an ongoing basis where SharePoint can be leveraged.

- Create new site collections and their databases as required, with aid of site provisioning tool.

- Ensure uptime target of farm is maintained.

- Manage and monitor through SCOM file sizes and disk space.

- Clean up log files when required.

- Without impeding performance, balance loads to grow the databases when necessary.

- Move databases without data loss and with minimal downtime.

- Ensure backups are kept for mirroring, archival and restore purposes.

- Restore sites and data as required.

- Restore from tape backup when required.

- Manage and monitor daily backups.

- Communicate and meet recovery time objectives.

- Analyze error messages on log files and diagnose the problems.

- Ensure backups have succeeded and not corrupted.
