The Opportunity


We are looking for a SIU Investigator II. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving the values on which our company was founded. As is the case with everyone we hire, this position will challenge you and push your critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills to help us solve complex problems. We’re looking for an investigator who integrates well with our claims culture.


Our perfect candidate understands the auto claims fraud landscape, is financially savvy, articulates both sides of an issue with clarity, digests complex information quickly and accurately, and is comfortable making decisions. This role is vital to our claims team’s success.


Salary Range:  $64,640 - $85,000

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Accountable for complete investigation of claims suspected of fraud, including complex investigations involving multiple claims, multiple providers, and organized fraudulent activity
  • Responsible for investigating claims that have indicators of potential misrepresentation. Investigations may include examination of documents, files, interviewing witnesses or other parties, coordinating forensic work with vendors, and conducting Examinations Under Oath
  • Occasionally required to testify in court proceedings in person or remotely, and complete sworn affidavits
  • Acts as a Liaison for the Claims Staff in fraud training, awareness, and investigation
  • Proactively reviews files to identify potentially questionable claims 
  • Engages in learning opportunities to build knowledge of personal lines claims, court decisions impacting the claims function, current guidelines in claims function, and policy changes and modifications
  • Provides input for continuous development of SIU and Claims best practices
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with customers, peers, vendors, and managers.
  • Provides technical claims recommendations in an effort to improve case outcomes
  • Recommends potential product developments and process improvements
  • Works with leadership developing and maintaining state fraud compliance plans
  • Serves as a resource and mentor for less experienced investigators on the team


What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience handling investigations related insurance/self-insured fraud, with a focus on automobile injury and property damage claims preferred
  • Fraud Claim Law Specialist certification, Certified Fraud Examiner designation, CPCU designation, or other certification relevant to fraud investigation preferred
  • Strong understanding and application of laws, statutes, and regulations specific to fraud handling
  • Experience conducting Examinations Under Oath without significant direction or assistance
  • Understanding of telematics location data and interpretation of forensic reports related to vehicle onboard systems such as Event Data Recorders 
  • High sense of professionalism while remaining empathetic
