This department is responsible for selling Motorola Solutions offerings to United States Federal Government Markets Division.
Job Description

Motorola Solutions is seeking a visionary leader with a distinguished background in the U.S. Department of Defense to serve as a Trusted Adviser to senior military leadership. You will act as the primary bridge between Motorola’s advanced technology portfolio and the evolving requirements of the DoD and Naval Services. This is a high-impact role requiring the ability to orchestrate multi-disciplinary teams to solve the Navy's most complex communications and Command & Control (C2) challenges.

Responsibilities: 

  • Customer Relationship Development and Management: Build and maintain strong relationships at senior DoD leadership levels (SES, O-6, and above)

  • Utilize previous industry experience to develop and enhance Motorola’s understanding of customer policy, budgeting, and requirements formulation

  • Become a trusted adviser to the senior Department of Defense customers and Federal Division partners

  • Clearly articulate Motorola’s value proposition and long-term strategies to senior leadership, helping them envision next-generation services and applications.

  • Ability to learn, develop, and clearly articulate specific Motorola Solutions strategies to customer senior leadership

  • Allocate appropriate resources and obtain full collaboration of internal product groups and external partners as necessary to meet the needs of key accounts and associated strategies

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of industry trends, changes, and competitor actions impacting customer decisions  

  • Ability to explore new customer segments and clearly articulate value proposition for customers and Motorola Solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of sales, public safety, military experience

  • OR 15+ years of sales, public safety, military experience

  • Naval Leadership: A distinguished background within the Department of Defense, with a strong preference for candidates who have served at the O-6 level or above.

  • Deep understanding and experience working with US DoD budget cycles with the ability to navigate complex funding landscapes.

  • Demonstrated ability to oversee the entire sales process—from initiating high-level discussions to closing major strategic programs.

  • A technical background to include experience selling or working with LMR/RF communications, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, and Command & Control (C2) platforms

  • Direct and oversee the sales process for assigned strategic projects / programs in the DoD; Responsible for initiating customer discussions and managing the entire sales process

  • Proven success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies within highly collaborative, matrixed environments.

  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Travel: 20-50% of the time within Territory (DMV area)

Target Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $145,000 USD
