About the Role
Eleven Media is looking for an experienced Social Media Lead to lead our US Entertainment social strategy across major platforms. This is a leadership role focused on breaking celebrity news, audience growth, original storytelling, and platform-first content.
Our coverage focuses on Hollywood celebrities, US entertainment, pop culture, red carpet events, award shows, and the creator/influencer landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the social media strategy and execution for US entertainment, including Hollywood celebrities, pop culture, red carpet events, award shows, and major industry developments.
- Develop daily and long-term social coverage plans around breaking celebrity news, entertainment events, award shows, and major news cycles.
- Track breaking entertainment news and ensure timely, accurate, and platform-appropriate coverage across all social channels.
- Guide, train, mentor, and develop social media producers and editors.
- Develop platform-first content strategies for Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other emerging platforms.
- Identify strong story angles, social hooks, headlines, captions, thumbnails, and visual approaches that maximize engagement while maintaining editorial integrity.
- Collaborate closely with editorial, video, design, and audience teams to create high-performing content.
- Monitor platform trends, algorithm changes, and audience behavior to continuously improve strategy.
- Review analytics, identify opportunities, and optimize content based on performance and audience insights.
- Help recruit, interview, onboard, and develop social media talent.
- Ensure consistency in brand voice, publishing quality, editorial standards, and social media best practices.
- Maintain clear communication across teams and ensure social coverage aligns with editorial priorities.
- Take ownership of audience growth, engagement, and overall social media performance.
- Remain flexible during breaking celebrity news, award shows, red carpet events, and other high-impact entertainment moments.
What You Will Need
- Significant professional experience leading social media for a US entertainment, celebrity, or digital media organization.
- Previous experience managing, mentoring, or leading social media teams.
- A strong understanding of the US entertainment industry, including Hollywood celebrities, pop culture, awards, entertainment media, and the creator ecosystem.
- Deep knowledge of major social platforms, their audiences, content formats, and best practices.
- Proven experience growing audiences and improving engagement through platform-specific strategies.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to identify celebrity stories that will resonate on social media.
- Experience covering breaking entertainment or celebrity news in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Strong understanding of analytics and the ability to use data to inform content and growth strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to editorial accuracy and brand quality.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and a willingness to take responsibility for team performance.
