About InstaSwitch
InstaSwitch is the fastest way for banks and fintech platforms to activate new accounts, driving deposits and primary relationships. Businesses hesitate to switch accounts due to time and complexity, leading to lost primacy. InstaSwitch automates switching, seamlessly moving income sources, payroll, and spend with minimal effort.

About This Role
Account switching is a genuinely hard problem - moving payroll, recurring payments, and spending patterns from one financial institution to another requires integrating with a fragmented ecosystem of banks, financial aggregators, and merchant sites, often with inconsistent APIs and incomplete data. We're building the infrastructure that makes this seamless at scale, and we're doing it with a small team that moves fast and owns everything it builds.
We need a strong full-stack engineer who thrives on variety. You'll work across a Rails backend, a TypeScript/Lit frontend, Python microservices, and AWS infrastructure - sometimes in the same day. The work ranges from building partner-facing APIs and banking integrations to shipping frontend components to standing up new services from scratch. If you're energized by a high-variety workload where your decisions run in production for years, this is the right role.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and scale our backend infrastructure using Rails 7+
  • Contribute to our Lit/TypeScript frontend and client SDK
  • Build seamless API integrations with banking platforms and financial services
  • Rapidly prototype, test, ship, and iterate on new features
  • Maintain and scale secure AWS infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with a small, senior team on architecture and technical direction

What We’re Looking For
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong Ruby on Rails experience
  • Proficient in TypeScript
  • Fintech experience
  • Comfortable working across the stack and in AWS
  • Comfortable building and iterating without a lot of process scaffolding
  • Startup or small team experience
  • Self-directed and effective in ambiguous problem spaces — you figure things out rather than waiting for clear requirements

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Lit or web components
  • React or equivalent frontend framework experience
  • Web automation experience
  • Experience with financial data provider integrations (Plaid, Teller, etc.)
  • Python proficiency

Why InstaSwitch
Small team, real ownership, hard problems. You won't be maintaining someone else's system — you'll be building ours. If you want your work to matter and your opinions to be heard, this is the right stage to join.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary ($100k-$140k) w. equity options
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • High-impact role with direct influence on product direction

How to Apply
If this sounds like your kind of opportunity, we’d love to hear from you. Send your resume to [email protected]. We're happy to see side projects, open source contributions, or links to things you've built, whatever you think best represents you.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $100,000 – $140,000 per year.
