As an Principal Software Engineer within PNC's C&IB Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, or Strongsville, OH.
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale web applications. This role is primarily focused on front-end architecture, user experience, and Angular development, while maintaining ownership and influence across the full technology stack.
As a technical leader, you will drive engineering excellence, establish front-end standards, mentor teams, and collaborate closely with Product, UX, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. You will play a key role in defining the technical vision and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
• Define and drive front-end architecture strategies for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Serve as the technical authority for Angular and modern web development best practices.
• Establish coding standards, architectural patterns, and engineering guidelines.
• Lead technical design reviews and provide guidance on complex system design decisions.
• Influence technology roadmaps and modernization initiatives.
Front-End Development

Full Stack Engineering

• Proven experience serving as a technical lead, principal engineer, or architect.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $91,000.00 – $185,900.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
