Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for overall coordination and processing of new patient orders and reorders. This includes verifying/reverifying benefits; translating and entering new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system, communicating and collecting co pay amounts, obtaining authorizations/reauthorizations and screening, identifying, resolving or deferring orders that have accounts receivable or clinical problems. This individual works with both internal and external customers to ensure that orders are processed in a timely manner and meet all financial and clinical requirements prior to fulfillment.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
*High School Diploma or equivalent.
*Illinois Pharmacy Technician license applied for at time of hire.
*Strong customer service skills.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Strong knowledge of computer programs.
*Excellent data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications
*Experience with insurance/health care background a plus.
*National Pharmacy Technician certification a plus.
*College Degree preferred.
