The Position
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our cloud infrastructure initiatives, playing a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our Microsoft Azure and AWS services. This position requires a high level of expertise in Cloud architecture and services, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure, working closely with various departments to deliver robust and efficient solutions.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation:Lead the design and implementation of Azure and AWS solutions, ensuring they align with business requirements and adhere to industry best practices. This includes creating detailed architectural designs, selecting appropriate services, and overseeing the deployment of these solutions.
  • Cloud Architecture:Develop and maintain a comprehensive cloud architecture that includes virtual networks, storage accounts, Azure Active Directory, AWS, and other essential components. Ensure that the architecture is scalable, secure, optimized for performance, and in compliance with Azure CAF and AWS Well-Architected framework
  • Automation and Coding:Write and maintain code to streamline deployment and management processes. Utilize tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates to automate repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce the potential for human error.
  • Security and Compliance:Implement and manage security measures to protect our cloud infrastructure. This includes configuring firewalls, security groups, managing identity and access management (IAM), and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, NIST CSF/800-171/800-53, and ISO 27001.
  • Monitoring and Optimization:Continuously monitor the performance of our cloud infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimizations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Utilize Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and other monitoring tools to gain insights into system performance and health.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and development, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud services. Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to address any issues and ensure that cloud solutions meet the needs of all stakeholders.
  • Troubleshooting:Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for Azure-related issues. This includes diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to services, and implementing preventive measures to avoid future issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures. Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or additional certifications in cloud computing or related areas are a plus.
Skills & Relevant Work Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing Microsoft Azure and AWS services. 15+ years of experience in designing and implementing IT infrastructure in large, complex, and distributed environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Azure architecture, deployment, and management.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of Azure services, including but not limited to Entra ID, Entra AD, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Relevant Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert. Additional certifications in related areas are a plus.
  • Strong scripting and coding skills in PowerShell or similar languages. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible and with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and automated testing frameworks.is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure security best practices and tools.
  • Experience with implementing and managing security measures in a cloud environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in creating and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
