This position is contingent upon contract award. We are currently pursuing a proposal and are seeking qualified candidates to include in our submission and identify candidates for future hiring needs on the program once awarded.

For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Senior DevOps Engineer.Core Knowledge & Skills: Masters CI/CD best practices and toolchains, multiple scripting languages, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes; integrates security into pipelines (DevSecOps).
Work & Complexity: Designs complex workflows, leads incident response for critical systems, and automates advanced deployment and configuration scenarios.
Quality & Independence: Sets a high bar for availability and performance, develops comprehensive test suites, and makes significant technical decisions with minimal oversight.
Teamwork & Communication: Leads collaborative efforts, mentors juniors, facilitates decisions, and communicates complex issues to stakeholders.
Consulting & Engagement: Leads optimization initiatives, provides expert guidance on tools and practices, and contributes to strategic projects.
The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will lead the development and automation of secure CI/CD pipelines supporting mission-focused law enforcement systems. This role is responsible for integrating security, scalability, and reliability into the software delivery lifecycle while collaborating closely with development, security, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate builds and releases over 2–4 week sprints
Design, build, and maintain secure, flexible, and high-performance CI/CD pipelines
Support deployment automation across multiple environments
Diagnose and resolve complex DevSecOps and deployment issues
Implement deployment strategies and automated testing
Work closely with developers, security professionals, and stakeholders
Monitor and support deployments, demonstrating flexibility in work hours as needed
Communicate effectively with technical teams and customers
Required For This Opportunity
U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DHS 6C Public Trust clearance
Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science preferred, or equivalent professional experience)
7+ years of experience supporting DevSecOps in an Agile environment
Proven experience building automated, secure CI/CD pipelines
Strong experience with:
CloudBees Jenkins
Ansible Tower
Git and GitHub
Maven
Containerization technologies
Amazon ECS, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
HashiCorp Vault
Linux (RHEL preferred) and shell scripting
Deployment strategies and automated deployment tooling
Ability to work onsite in Crystal City, VA approximately 2-4 days per month
Nice to Have Skills
Experience supporting government or high-security environments
Strong collaboration skills with security and compliance teams
Experience supporting production deployments in regulated environments
