Job Description

As a Senior Director, Biostatistics, at Gilead you will ... 

Demonstrate competency in taking all the job responsibilities, performing with very strong leadership and critical and strategic thinking skills.
Direct internal and external teams across multifunctional project or functional areas, leads initiatives to gather, organize, and analyze data from different sources.
Proven ability to pull together and lead highly effective cross-functional teams and create a clear sense of direction.
Be viewed as a key resource by more senior individuals on departmental strategic initiatives.
Proven ability to determine the functions most critical to company success and to support priorities within functional area.
May specialize within a particular Therapeutic Area/indication or technical area to serve as a Company-wide resource.
Proven ability to use all available vehicles for effective scientific communication within and outside the company.
Able to set up and influence collaborations with external academic or government organizations to extend visibility or business need of the company.
Good understanding of the business beyond the area of Biostatistics and is a recognized authority outside of the company.

Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in a group setting (e.g. PTs).
Use competitive intelligence to influence clinical development strategies.
Uses knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding statistical principles to ensure the company meets its regulatory, scientific, and business objectives.
Leads a specific component of a departmental strategic initiative
Generalizability (ability to generalize a solution to a specific problem to other similar settings)
As appropriate to the level, the ability to anticipate problems before they occur
The ability to positively impact processes and projects by influencing peers, cross-functional colleagues, and Direct Managers
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
Basic Qualifications:
12+ years of industry experience in the statistical analysis of biomedical data with an PhD degree in Biostatistics or equivalent

Must have programming capability with statistical software packages in SAS or R.
Understanding SDTM/ADaM standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Rheumatic diseases is preferred
Experience in Inflammation

The salary range for this position is: $237,575.00 - $307,450.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
