Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Sr Director, Business Development for our Industrial business unit located in Austin, TX or Remote location.


The Sr Director, Business Development will be in-charge of qualifying new customers, developing relationships, and achieving pipeline and bookings results according to assigned personal and team targets.  Preferred candidates will have experience in Energy Infrastructure, HVAC, Outdoor Equipment, Robotics / Warehouse Automation, and / or Semiconductor markets.


What a typical day looks like:

  • Create, advance, and close new business development opportunities.
  • Develop new strategic alliances with key customers. 
  • Research and recognize customers' business strategy, future product plans, and expansion activities and align Flex solutions to capture new business opportunities.
  • Assist new accounts in the development and execution of manufacturing and supply chain solutions for their product roadmaps and act as a focal point in delivering Flex's solutions which include engineering, manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, and after-market services. 
  • Work closely with the Business Development Team and the Finance Department to meet the financial KPIs for all new business development opportunities.
  • Represent Flex Ways of Working when interacting with internal & external contacts. 

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, or business. 
  • Typically requires 9 years of related experience. 
  • Experience in the EMS / CMO / engineering business environment. 
  • An understanding of Energy Infrastructure, HVAC,  Outdoor Equipment, Robotics / Warehouse Automation, and / or Semiconductor markets.
  • Ability to work with internal teams and executive management as well as external customers to maximize mutual benefit. 
  • Knowledge of Strategic Selling techniques. 
  • Understanding of key financial metrics and capability to read P&L, balance sheets, ROI indicators, taking actions to meet customers’ needs and Flex targets. 
  • Ability to successfully influence senior level management, executives, and key clients.
