The Sr. Energy Storage NERC Compliance Manager will be tasked with the continued development of a first class scalable NERC corporate and operational compliance program. This is a critical role for the organization that works directly with the company's Asset Management and Legal Team on driving a holistic approach to compliance management across a utility-scale energy storage portfolio. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert on NERC standards, driving implementation, monitoring, and cross-functional engagement to maintain a best-in-class compliance framework.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Serves as SME on NERC Reliability Standards; including providing internal guidance training.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Leads implementation and improvement of the NERC compliance program.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Identifies and manage compliance risks; design and oversee controls.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Coordinates with third-party contractors supporting NERC compliance.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Conducts gap analyses, report findings, and maintain documentation.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Manages audit responses, investigations, and mitigation plans.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Monitors evolving NERC and Regional Standards; ensure internal readiness.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Supports internal alignment with ISO/RTO compliance requirements.
- Sr. BESS NERC Compliance Manager / Grid Compliance Manager - Contributes to industry standards development and voting processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6-10+ years of corporate compliance and operational NERC compliance for grid infrastructure, BESS, energy storage, or utility-scale renewable energy electric transmission systems
- Corporate asset based operational NERC compliance experience dealing with utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage or energy storage projects
- NERC Compliance experience with RSAWs, audit processes, and compliance monitoring/reporting tools
- Strong track record developing/implementing NERC compliance programs that deal with NERC, FERC, Public Utility Commissions (PUCs) and other Reliability organization standards, operating policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Well versed in compliance resolution and root cause analysis for compliance break downs
- Experience with and knowledge of current ISO/RTO standards, operating policies, procedures, and guidelines preferred
- An understanding of national energy power markets - PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and WECC is beneficial
- Candidates may have held Manager or Lead titles such as: Manager of NERC Compliance, Sr. Regulatory Manager, NERC, Lead NERC Compliance Specialist, Sr. NERC Compliance Advisor, NERC Compliance Lead, Lead Compliance Engineer, Sr. NERC Compliance Manger.
