The Sr. Manager, Global Master Data is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing master data governance across key domains such as customer, install base (equipment), and material (product). This role reports into the Global Commercial Operations organization, but has a wide remit that intersects with other functions such as IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Unit manufacturing, as well as various commercial functions (Sales, Service, Marketing, etc.)
This position reports to the Director II – Global Data Analytics & Master Data and is part of the Global Master Data Center of Excellence located in Deer Park, IL, and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Act as a hands-on team leader to a group of global master data stewards and analysts, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation across Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
- Shape the global master data strategy, establishing enterprise-wide standards, policies, and lifecycle governance to enable business transformation.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of customer master data to support both operational activities (quoting, order processing, fulfillment & installation, invoicing, post-sale service) as well as strategic activities (customer hierarchy, segmentation, targeting, analytics)
- Oversee governance of install base data, including the lifecycle of equipment master, to inform both tactical and strategic decision-making and enable value-driven strategies.
- Own the “Commercial Bill of Materials”, collaborating with manufacturing sites and business units to ensure accurate material/product data attributes that drive seamless end-to-end commercial processes
- Set the direction for master data integration & architecture across ERP, CRM, e-commerce, and emerging platforms, ensuring scalability and resilience.
- Establish enterprise-level data quality KPIs and lead continuous improvement programs that deliver measurable business outcomes.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- 7+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, or enterprise data strategy, with an emphasis in commercial operations. Or alternatively, 10+ years in complex organizations leading enterprise initiatives that drove measurable revenue impact or operational efficiency.
- 7+ years of leadership experience in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Proven experience with SAP ERP (preferably SAP S/4HANA), Salesforce CRM, and MDM platforms.
- High level of competency in process mapping and systems design – proven track record of aligning tools and technology to business processes and outcomes
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- 0-20% travel, depending on initiatives & priorities
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Strong Knowledge of data cataloging, metadata management, and lineage tracking. Experience implementing enterprise MDM solutions.
- Certification or high proficiency in process optimization methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Principles, DBS, etc.)
- Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, SAP MDG).

The annual salary range for this role is 130,000 to 150,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
