Overview:

Practice Fusion is looking for a Sr Quality Engineering Manager who is passionate about creating life-saving technology for doctors and patients. This role combines individual contributions (test development and execution), process and procedure management, and people management.

Responsibilities:

  • As a manager:
    • Establishing performance goals for team members
    • Providing regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner
    • Recognizing high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent
    • Implementing development plans and coaching for individuals to reach their maximum talent
    • Creating and fostering team spirit
    • Inducting new joiners to quickly maximize performance
    • Allocating workload to fully utilize every employee’s talent and growth potential
    • Participate in defining, leading, and auditing progress in quality initiatives, as appropriate to project and product need
    • Regularly use/report quality-related metrics
    • Lead/participate in standards-based compliance or process improvement efforts as appropriate to project and product need
    • Directly manage Quality Engineering team members, that include individual contributors and quality engineering managers in distributed teams
  • As an individual contributor:
    • Write code in a C#-based test framework to develop automation for REST web services
    • SQL proficiency for database story/bug verification and functional test automation
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to build new and or iteratively improve automation frameworks, methodologies, and processes for Quality Management, test planning, test execution, and quality reporting.
    • Participate directly in Agile product development, including requirements analysis, requirements-based test planning, and test development
    • Perform exploratory, functional, and regression testing, performing root cause analysis on defects and producing, clear, concise bug reports.
    • Work with other engineers and customer-facing support teams to identify, log, root-cause, triage, prioritize, and drive resolution of defects

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant program of study preferred; equivalent experience accepted
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications and professional memberships preferred

Experience:

  • 10+ years Quality Engineering experience, including:
    • Agile Software Development
    • Test Automation and coding experience including setting up best practices
    • Test framework set up and CICD experience
    • Software build/release procedures
    • Defect analysis/triage/root cause
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead in a Test Engineering context
  • Preferred 4+ years of engineering management experience
  • Familiarity with JIRA, GitHub, Azure, AWS etc.
