The Senior Research Analyst will conduct in-depth research and analysis in the TMT sector, providing investment recommendations and supporting portfolio management.
Summary of the RoleCalamos is seeking to attract a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Analyst with expertise in the technology sector. The ideal candidate will be a career analyst who brings outstanding analytical capabilities and deep expertise in Technology, Media, & Telecom (“TMT”) companies across the market capitalization spectrum, with an emphasis on large cap stocks. The successful candidate will possess the fortitude and experience to contribute both long-term and tactical investment recommendations across various segments of TMT, primarily to the firm’s U.S. core and growth equity strategies.The research analyst will be a culture champion who embodies and promotes Calamos’ values of intellectual rigor, constructive debate, and challenging conventional methods to uncover innovative investment perspectives. - Research and Analysis: Prepare concise research summaries, as well as company overviews and more detailed industry and competitive analyses, valuations, and other relevant quantitative and fundamental factors. Monitor and update fundamental and technical targets for current and prospective holdings on a consistent basis.
- Investment Recommendations: Develop and deliver actionable buy/sell recommendations based on rigorous analysis and strategic objectives. Participate in, and contribute to, strategy reviews with the Research team to ensure alignment with investment goals.
- Portfolio Management Support: Monitor performance and holdings relative to investment objectives, benchmarks, and Calamos’ macroeconomic outlook. Stay abreast of current portfolio holdings across different strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math or related field is required.
- Progress towards or attainment of a CFA, MBA and/or MS in Finance is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in equity research with the TMT sector is strongly preferred. Buyside experience is preferred.
- Advanced analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. High proficiency in research methodologies, valuation techniques, and financial modeling. The successful candidate will have experience across the capitalization spectrum, long only and long-short investing, and the ability to generate ideas on both short-term and long-term time horizons.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment with limited supervision.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to efficiently compile and analyze data.
- High attention to detail with excellent communication and organizational skills.
