Job Description

Sr. Solution Architect

Chicago, IL

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 15+ years relevant experience in technical leadership and/or technology consulting on large enterprise projects
  • Multiple projects working at an Architect level with an Architect title
  • Knowledge of Agile processes (Scrum preferred)
  • Experience designing and building large-scale, distributed systems delivered as Enterprise-wide, global-facing PaaS or SaaS offerings.
  • Experience with large scale migrations to Azure
  • Experience with SOA and/or micro services-based architectures.
  • Experience with documenting complex solution architecture designs
    • Proficient in ability to document designs using modeling and diagramming techniques appropriate for the required context.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience and solid understanding of the following technologies:
    • C#/.NET 4.5+
    • Web API
    • SQL Server 2014+
    • Windows Server 2012 R2
    • Experience with a message broker / service bus technology
    • Azure
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design
  • Able to identify and communicate issues/risks applying technical and root cause analysis skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Possess strong decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and reasoning skills
    • Comfortable speaking in front of an executive audience
  • Creativity and ability to think outside-the-box while defining sound and practical solutions
  • Desire to take the initiative, moving projects/ideas forward with clarity
  • Adept negotiation skills in high-pressure situations

  • NoSQL technologies, such as MongoDB and Redis
  • Service Bus for Windows Server / Azure Service Bus
  • AWS
  • Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem
  • Tableau
  • Enterprise Architecture certification, such as EACOE or TOGAF
  • Tax industry / financial services experience
