We are actively seeking a Sr. Solution Engineer. This role reports to the Director of Pre-Sales, and is eligible for remote work from a home office located in the Central or Western United States.

Position Summary

In this role, you will engage in sales opportunities, participate actively in customer meetings, and collaborate closely with our Senior Account Executives to address customers’ needs and challenges.

The Senior Solution Engineer serves as the primary liaison to our internal Delivery and Strategic Services teams. In this role, you will draw on your existing functional expertise with one or more Rimini Street products used within our organization. Building on that experience, you will learn to articulate the strategy and roadmap for all products supported by Rimini Street. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will

  • Partner with Senior Account Executives to support and influence sales opportunities across North American markets.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand technical needs, address challenges, and provide expert guidance throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery and Product teams worldwide to secure accurate pricing, delivery approvals, and alignment on solution feasibility.
  • Deliver compelling presentations on Rimini Street’s services and support model—virtually and in person—with the confidence to address technical objections from diverse audiences ranging from Application Managers and Developers to DBAs and C‑Suite executives.
  • Develop comprehensive scoping requirements that define the services to be delivered, ensuring clarity and accuracy for downstream execution.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to other company wide initiatives in support of the growth and profitability of the product lines
  • Some travel outside your geography in support of global initiatives
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time to support sales deals in their territory

Location

  • Remote Central / West – United States

Education 

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience   

  • 12 to 15 years’ experience in a Pre-Sales Engineering Role or Pre-Sales Solution Architect role within any applications, technology, or database ecosystem (software and/or Services), supporting a geographically or industry-focused sales organization.
  • Demonstrated success in a consultative selling environment, with a proven history of operating effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Hands‑on experience implementing, supporting, or architecting complex ERP applications across global enterprises.
  • Proven track record partnering with Sales Representatives throughout the sales cycle, contributing significantly to opportunity strategy and successful deal closure.
  • Experience with full‑lifecycle software implementations, including discovery, design, deployment, and post‑go‑live support.
  • Experience with application and technology migration projects, including lift‑and‑shift initiatives to public cloud platforms.

Required Qualifications   

  • Mastery of software licensing models for major enterprise ERP and database platforms, including—but not limited to—ecosystems such as SAP, Oracle, and IBM, with a strong understanding of service level alignment, compliance considerations, and cost‑impacting licensing structures.
  • Deep, cross‑platform knowledge of enterprise applications and technology stacks, including how different versions, release cycles, and architectural models vary across vendors like SAP, Oracle, and IBM and other enterprise ecosystems.
  • Broad familiarity with a wide range of enterprise applications, middleware, and database technologies, spanning both vendor‑specific (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IBM) and heterogeneous IT environments.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing challenges, including entitlement validation, audit exposure, consumption‑based models, and hybrid/multi‑cloud impacts on licensing across SAP, Oracle, IBM, and similar vendors.
  • Experience with application and database security, including industry frameworks and regulatory standards such as PCI, NERC, and CIP, and the ability to apply these across mixed‑vendor landscapes.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and hybrid deployment models, including how enterprise applications and databases, whether SAP, Oracle, IBM, or other platforms, operate differently in public cloud, private cloud, and on‑premises environments.

Skills

  • Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal, and presentation communication, with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively throughout the sales cycle.
  • Strong public‑speaking and facilitation skills for phone conversations, onsite meetings, and conference or seminar presentations.
  • Proficiency in producing clear, professional documentation and deliverables using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce.
  • Highly disciplined and able to thrive in a remote work environment, recognizing that the role requires flexibility beyond traditional 9–5 hours.

The general salary range for this type of role is 142k - 178k (plus commission) depending on skills and experience. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be based on several factors such as: a candidate's location, and the level of applicable skills and professional experience. Rimini’s target pay for each position is available upon request during the applicant’s Interview process.
