Job Description:

Job Summary:

Primary focused on providing contract drafting, support, and review services within the working operations of an assigned business unit or lines of business. This role will occasionally assist other members of the Legal Team in supporting other Epiq business units and corporate functions as directed. Must be comfortable liaising with internal stakeholders and handling negotiations directly with external parties in a fast-paced environment with an ability to work closely with a large sales force.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and directly negotiate service agreements, vendor agreements, data processing agreements, nondisclosure agreements, business associate agreements, and other contracts on behalf of the company;

  • Offer internal counsel on a wide range of legal issues and be comfortable effectively delivering that advice to other departments such as sales, information security, finance, compliance, procurement, etc.;

  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external collaborative relationships and effectively influence internal customers, when needed;

  • Coordinate with internal departments to process contracts from beginning to end, including but not limited to RFP team, finance, operations, client services, compliance, information security, etc.;

  • Assist with collating and responding to RFIs and RFPs;

  • Use technology as part of the contracting process (Contract Lifecycle Management tool, GRC, DocuSign, etc.);

  • Perform legal research using online resources and databases;

  • Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness;

  • Assist with billing and invoicing, including creating and submitting invoices and tracking payments.

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Law degree and active bar licensure in state where you are located;

  • 2+ years of legal experience in either a law firm or in-house setting;

  • Previous in-house experience preferred but not required;

  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating directly with other parties, various kinds of agreements, including client agreements, vendor agreements, etc. is essential;

  • Business minded, with the ability to identify and articulate a sensible and practical balance between legal risks and business priorities and present real-world pragmatic advice;

  • Adept at working in a fast-paced, high-activity, large workload environment; and

  • Team and service-oriented attitude that no task is too big or too small, with a roll-up-your-sleeves personal ownership mentality.

The Compensation range for this role is $100,000 USD up to $120,000 USD  annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. This will be based on your background and skills alignment with the role.
