Job Description:
As a PCB Librarian at Shield AI, you will be responsible for the management and development of the ECAD component library. You will work in close partnership with PCB designers, component and electrical engineers, as well as the reliability and manufacturing teams. You will be supporting all hardware development teams at Shield AI, including both VBAT and XBAT.
What you'll do:
- Create library parts as needed by engineering
- Maintain ECAD parts libraries (schematic symbol and physical footprint)
- Interpret datasheets for determine symbol and footprint requirements
- Interface with manufacturing and reliability engineers for iterative footprint improvements
Required qualifications:
- 8+ Years of profession experience creating schematic symbols and physical footprints using ECAD tools.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturer’s datasheets and dimensioned drawings
- Familiarity with IPC specifications, and working knowledge of IPC-7351
- Experience with library configuration management
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with manufacturing and engineering teams
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Preferred qualifications:
- IPC certified, CID
- Experience managing a component library in Altium AES
- Experience with PCB layout and routing
- Aerospace industry experience
- Familiarity with both MIL STD and commercial components
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability and design for assembly
