About LiveKit

LiveKit is building the infrastructure layer for the voice-driven era of computing. Our platform gives developers everything they need to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe agents in production. Founded in 2021, LiveKit powers voice AI applications for OpenAI, xAI, Salesforce, Coursera, Spotify, and thousands of others, collectively facilitating billions of calls each year.

About This Role

We're looking for an experienced PM to lead a growth squad at LiveKit. Bottoms-up growth has always been in our DNA: build a product developers love, keep it open-source, include a generous free tier, and let word of mouth do the work. It has taken us a long way: many of our largest customer today started as a single developer building something new. As our business scales, and our GTM team grows for Enterprise sales, we now need a full-time squad focused on Product-Led Growth (PLG).

This squad will grow and maintain a large, diverse, healthy population of developers actively building on LiveKit. Some will break out into serious scale and become our future largest customers. We cannot pick which ones in advance, so the job is not to run a conventional acquisition funnel. It is to cultivate the population and make sure we notice and support what it produces. In practice that means more developers arriving, more of them getting to something real, more of them adopting the full platform, and the ones who take off having us alongside them the whole way.

Our PM team is small and high-leverage, with each PM coming in to establish the foundations in a new area of the business. You'd run the growth squad (product, design, engineering, marketing, and analytics), work alongside our developer support engineers on the accounts that are scaling, and partner with marketing on everything upstream of signup.

This role can be based remotely or in our SF HQ, where you'll be part of a collaborative in-office culture!

You'll Thrive Here If You:
  • are obsessed with making the best product for our customers

  • are known as the go-to person for tackling tough problems

  • work hard and can build and ship fast

  • are focused on polish, detail, and quality

  • are a fast learner, frequently picking up new tips, tricks, and skills

The best way to impress us is by trying LiveKit's product, understanding the space, and bringing smart thoughts and opinions to the table.

What You'll Do
  • Own Product-Led Growth end to end. From how a developer first hears about us through onboarding, adoption, and growth into a production workload. Where the path crosses into marketing or into another product team, you're the person accountable for the whole thing working rather than for a slice of it.

  • Grow the population. More developers arriving, from more places, building more kinds of things. Own the surfaces that decide whether someone who lands on LiveKit ends up building on it, including how we show up to the AI tools developers now use to choose their stack.

  • Get developers to a real workload, not just a first run. Own onboarding and activation as product surfaces. The distance between "signed up" and "actually built something" is still large, and closing this gap is one of our biggest growth levers.

  • Stay close to the builders who are taking off. Keep tabs on the accounts finding traction, identify them early, understand what they're building, and make sure we're helping them scale rather than finding out after the fact.

  • Drive platform depth. Developers who adopt more of LiveKit build more with us and stay longer. Work with the product teams to make attaching products like agent hosting, LiveKit Inference, and Agent Observability the natural path early on, rather than a later upsell.

  • Be the voice of the self-serve developer. Tens of thousands of people a month touch our product without ever talking to anyone here. Bring what they experience back into the roadmap, from the docs through to the product itself.

  • Make growth measurable. Own the operating metrics for platform health and the cadence that reviews them, so we can see how the population is doing in weeks rather than quarters. You’ll work closely with our data team to design and operate this system.

Who You Are
  • 8+ years in product management, at a senior or staff level, ideally owning growth, activation, or retention for a developer-facing or usage-based product.

  • A real product-led growth background. You've owned a funnel where the product does the selling: acquisition through onboarding, adoption, and expansion, with experimentation and instrumentation to match.

  • You've moved a usage number, not just a signup number. Our growth comes overwhelmingly from developers building more on us over time. Acquisition matters, but depth and durability are where this job is won.

  • Technical enough to earn a developer's trust. You know your way around a CLI and can have serious technical discussion with customers and engineers. You don't need to write production code, but our customers are developers and you'll be one of the people they talk to.

  • Quantitative by instinct. You're comfortable in the data yourself, you know the difference between temporary noise and a real trend, and you're honest about what a number can and cannot prove.

  • Cross-functional influence. LiveKit's engineering teams operate with high autonomy, and this role reaches across product, marketing, support, and sales. You influence through clarity, trust, and good judgment, not process or hierarchy.

  • Communication as a superpower. You write clearly, present well, and can move between a board-level strategy conversation and a detailed technical discussion with an engineering lead.

  • Comfort with ambiguity. We're a small product team at a fast-growing company. You'll figure out what matters, prioritize ruthlessly, and move quickly without perfect information.

Nice to Have
  • Growth or PLG ownership at a developer tools, API, or infrastructure company with a bottom-up motion

  • Consumer growth background, particularly onboarding, lifecycle, and retention at scale

  • Experience with consumption or usage-based businesses, where the relationship is measured in volume rather than seats

  • Built onboarding, activation, or first-run experiences for a technical product

  • Experience designing a high-touch motion for a small set of high-value accounts inside an otherwise self-serve business

  • Familiarity with voice AI, real-time communication, or agent frameworks

  • Comfort with SQL and working directly in a warehouse

Our Commitment to You
  • An opportunity to build something truly impactful to the world

  • Contribute to open source alongside world-class engineers

  • Competitive salary and equity package

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Flexible vacation policy
