Program Overview

The 2026-2027 Starr Global Associates Program is a dynamic, accelerated 12-month training program designed to identify, cultivate, and retain high-potential college graduates. This program offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation in the insurance industry.

As an Associate, you will work in one of Starr’s various departments, learning the business and contributing to your team. The Associates Program complements your department work by offering professional development opportunities, including direct exposure to senior leadership, technical training, and a comprehensive understanding of key functions throughout the organization.

**This is not a rotational program**

Associates Program Responsibilities:

  • Continuing Education: Study for and pass an exam or designation related to your job function during the program (i.e. a course offered through The Institutes).
  • Group Project: Collaborate with fellow Associates on a project related to emerging technologies, internal initiatives, or process improvement.
  • Home Office Visits: Participate in home office visits to New York City for hands-on training, management discussions, and team-building social events.
  • Cross-Departmental Learning: Hear from professionals in key insurance areas like claims, credit, actuarial science, underwriting, and reinsurance to get holistic understanding of Starr’s operations.

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional with little to no industry experience.
  • Relevant internship or work experience during college years preferred.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to problem-solve and think analytically.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • A self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for learning and growth and demonstrated leadership potential.
  • Risk Management/Insurance and Business majors preferred; some positions may require different areas of study.
  • A completed undergraduate degree is required before the program begins in June 2026

Compensation & Benefits:

For individuals based in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to provide a compensation range. The estimated wage range for this role is $65,000-$78,000, which reflects factors such as skills, experience, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
