State Bid Manager - Adoptions, Bids, and Proposals

The State Bid Manager’s primary responsibility is to create project plans and schedules for state adoptions of Curriculum Associates math, science and ELA instructional materials, keep work on track by coordinating with other teams and making sure deadlines are met, and submit timely, high quality, compliant bids to the state. The successful applicant for this role will have the knowledge and experience to develop new organizational systems, create clear process documents, and train and support team members in the systems and processes.

 

The impact you'll have:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of state bid submissions for instructional materials adoptions

  • Design and implement new organizational systems to streamline adoption processes and information sharing, and improve efficiency across projects

  • Build project plans for state instructional materials bid submission

  • Identify potential risks that could impact the delivery of business objectives and develop strategies to mitigate these risks

  • Collaborate with the Adoptions team to ensure bid submission project plans meet all state requirements and timeline

  • Run weekly cross-functional status meetings for assigned projects, distribute agendas, publish minutes, and track action items

  • Track and maintain a log of the team’s correspondence with state departments of education

  • Produce, print, bind, and ship state bid submissions

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in all technical and proposal content

  • Support the Adoptions Team and cross-functional teams as needed with schedules for state requirements such as standards correlations, criteria documents, and rubric completion

  • Perform other relevant duties, as assigned

Who we're looking for:

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential

  • Demonstrated effectiveness working cross-functionally and collaborating with a broad spectrum of stakeholders

  • Results oriented – able to complete projects in a timely manner to a high standard to drive outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines by effectively prioritizing tasks and adapting to shifting needs

  • Creative thinking and approaches to problem-solving

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well organized

  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and streamline workflows

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in educational publishing, preferably working with an Adoptions or RFP team at a K-12 publisher

  • Expertise with project management software and processes

  • Experience managing crossfunctional work across large diverse teams

Travel: <10%

Benefits and Pay Range:

Pay Range – This role’s range is $69,250-$118,250.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. This role is also eligible to participate in the company bonus plan. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
