Job Description

Position Overview

As an Strategic Account Manager, you own the relationship with a portfolio of Momentive clients after the sale. You keep them renewing, help them get more value out of the products they already have, and find the right moments to bring in more of the Momentive portfolio. You are the client’s advocate inside Momentive and Momentive’s trusted partner inside their organization.

Position Summary

You will manage a defined book of existing Momentive clients — associations, nonprofits, and membership organizations — with direct responsibility for retention and expansion of revenue. You will run account reviews, track client health, spot risk early, and build the case for renewal and growth well before a contract is up. You report to the Director, Sales – Account Management and partner daily with Customer Success, Support, and Product to keep clients moving forward with Momentive.

A Day in the Life

  • Own a portfolio of existing Momentive clients, serving as their main point of contact after the sale.
  • Manage renewals for your accounts start to finish, and catch churn risk early enough to fix it.
  • ind and close expansion opportunities — cross-sell and upsell across the Momentive product portfolio (Aptify, NimbleAMS, GiveSmart, and more).
  • Run quarterly business reviews with clients to revisit their goals, show the value delivered, and flag what's next.
  • Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders in each account, not just your primary contact.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Support so clients get one connected experience instead of a handoff between teams.
  • Keep Salesforce current with account plans, renewal dates, opportunity stages, and next steps.
  • Track your book against net revenue retention (NRR), renewal rate, and expansion targets, and report on it regularly.
  • Bring client feedback back to Momentive — flag themes for Product and Marketing so the roadmap reflects what clients actually need.
  • Stay current on the association and nonprofit technology landscape so you can speak to what matters to your clients.
  • Partner with your Director on account planning, deal strategy, and pipeline reviews for your book.

We are looking for someone who brings

Experience:

  • 3+ years in account management, customer success, or a client-facing sales role, ideally in B2B SaaS.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding retention and renewal targets.
  • Experience identifying and closing expansion opportunities within an existing account base.
  • Comfort managing a portfolio of accounts at once, prioritizing where your time has the most impact.
  • Experience navigating accounts with more than one stakeholder or decision-maker.
  • Familiarity with the association, nonprofit, or membership technology space is a plus.

Technical/Computer Skills:

  • Salesforce, or a comparable CRM, used daily to track accounts, pipeline, and renewals.
  • Comfortable with Gong, Salesloft, or similar sales engagement tools.
  • Microsoft Office 365, including Excel for account and portfolio reporting.

Other Skills:

  • Strong relationship-builder who earns trust with clients and keeps it.
  • Clear communicator, in writing and in person, with clients and with internal partners.
  • Organized enough to manage a full portfolio of accounts without letting renewals sneak up on you.
  • Consultative approach: you ask questions and solve problems before you pitch anything.
  • Comfortable with numbers — you can read an account's health and explain it in plain terms.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients.
