As GreenLight enters its next phase of growth, we are seeking a highly analytical, hands-on Strategic Controller / Finance Operations Lead to help strengthen financial visibility, operational rigor, and scalable finance infrastructure across the business.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on finance leadership role focused on improving financial visibility, reporting discipline, operational finance processes, and working capital management during a critical growth phase.

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with operational finance, analytical problem-solving, and a builder mentality. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with evolving systems and imperfect data.

This role will work closely with leadership and have direct visibility into company strategy, operational scaling, and financial decision-making.

GreenLight is intentionally taking a phased approach, with immediate focus on improving financial visibility, collections discipline, operational reporting, and finance process infrastructure.

This role will work alongside existing external accounting partners, internal operational teams, and internal bookkeeping support resources, with the opportunity to help shape the long-term finance function as the company scales.

This is a full-time contract role (6-month initial term).

Initial Priorities
  • Establish reliable weekly cash flow and operational reporting

  • Improve accounts receivable visibility and collections discipline

  • Begin building client-level profitability and labor burden reporting

  • Identify invoicing discrepancies and operational finance inefficiencies

  • Support lender, working capital, and banking reporting initiatives

  • Improve overall financial visibility and reporting infrastructure

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations & Reporting
  • Build and maintain weekly financial and operational reporting for leadership

  • Improve visibility into cash flow, working capital, and funding exposure

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and collections performance

  • Support forecasting visibility and scenario analysis for leadership

  • Lead initiatives to improve invoicing accuracy and operational finance processes

Operational Finance & Analytics
  • Support development of client-level profitability and margin reporting

  • Analyze labor burden economics and payroll-related costs

  • Support pricing analysis and client contract discussions

  • Help leadership improve financial decision-making through better reporting and analysis

Accounting & Process Oversight
  • Help improve monthly close processes and financial reporting discipline

  • Maintain accurate financial reporting and reconciliations

  • Coordinate with external accounting, tax, payroll, and finance partners

  • Support scalable controls and finance process documentation

  • Oversee and improve finance-related operational workflows

Systems & Process Improvement
  • Improve accounting and financial workflows across billing, payroll, and collections

  • Support automation and process optimization initiatives

  • Help build scalable finance processes aligned with company growth

  • Leadership has reliable visibility into cash flow and financial performance

  • Financial reporting and operational metrics become more timely and actionable

  • Collections and invoicing processes become more disciplined and scalable

  • Client profitability and labor burden visibility improve significantly

  • GreenLight develops stronger financial infrastructure to support continued growth

QualificationsRequired
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting, finance, operational finance, or controllership roles

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, cash flow management, and operational finance

  • Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling capabilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to operate independently in fast-moving environments

  • Comfortable working with evolving systems and imperfect data

Preferred
  • Experience in staffing, EOR, payroll, fintech, SaaS, or compliance-heavy businesses

  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency environments

  • Experience working with outsourced or offshore accounting support teams

  • Experience supporting lending, working capital, or banking initiatives

  • Strong accounting foundation; CPA a plus but not required

  • Experience with Xero, NetSuite, or similar accounting systems
