Amplify is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Analyst who will be responsible for assisting with managing relationships and enforcement of contracts with suppliers who manufacture K-12 educational products. The successful candidate will report to the Strategic Sourcing Manager and have a deep understanding of book paper and printing, as well as the seasonality of K-12 publishing. This candidate must also understand book specifications, the costs related to book printing and be able to conduct a comparative analysis of price scales, with a track record of managing supplier relationships

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor KPIs and enforce contracts with printers to ensure that Amplify products are produced to the required quality and cost standards.

  • Work closely with the Manufacturing team to ensure product specifications and paper types are assigned to all items, which factor into sourcing cost calculations.

  • Manage printer pricing scales and develop "should cost" models to determine fair pricing for book printing.

  • Conduct quantitative analysis to evaluate supplier scale adherence and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Assist the Strategic Sourcing Manager with RFP processes from documenting expectations to creating an RFP, answering bidder questions, making selection recommendations, and integrating price scales and service levels into SIOP planning processes.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as the publishing and editorial teams, to understand their needs and requirements for book printing.

  • Evaluate proposals from potential suppliers and recommend selections based on quality, cost, schedules and other factors.

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure that they meet delivery and quality standards, and work closely with them to resolve any issues that arise.

  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures, and that all contracts are properly documented and filed.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in book paper and printing technology, and identify opportunities to improve the procurement process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and quantitative analysis skills.

  • Experience in developing "should cost" models and managing RFP processes from documentation of expectations to final selection and integration of pricing and service levels into SIOP planning processes.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with contract management and procurement software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement, with a focus on book printing and paper. Knowledge of packaging is a plus.

  • Experience creating RFPs and managing supplier relationships.

  • Deep understanding of the seasonality of K12 publishing, and how it impacts book printing
