We work closely with our customers to develop innovative and technologically advanced fluid power solutions.

We are seeking an Strategic Sourcing Specialist for our Schaumburg, IL facility. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will place purchase orders for new and existing production materials. They will identify and develop qualified suppliers which meet company and customer requirements.  Salary is commiserated with experience, and compensation for this position is between $85,000-95,000. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Professionally place purchase orders to meet program and production schedules, while maintaining good supplier relationships.
  • Control the cost of purchased materials within budget and generate cost reduction action plans.
  • Attain a level of product/commodity knowledge and to attain a level of awareness of supplier operations as they pertain to the company
  • Professionally resolve problems, both internally and externally, in a fair and ethical manner.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside contacts.
  • Maintain and support company objectives for cost out, inventory turns, and supplier on-time delivery.
  • Provide vendor performance data for Quarterly Scorecard.
  • Travel will be required to various supplier locations.

  • Ability to read drawings and technical information.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software, including Word, Advanced Excel/Data Analysis & Strategic Sourcing Methodologies, and Power Point.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, internet software, inventory software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

  • Understand component manufacturing processes

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. 5-7 years procurement experience in a manufacturing environment required. 
  • 2-4 years procurement experience in a manufacturing environment with CNC or Swiss machining.
  • Some Mechanical Engineering experience is preferred. 
  • SAP experience is a plus. 
  • SCM or CPIM is a plus.

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment

  • Must adhere to all safety rules in force for the location you are in while performing your job responsibilities. This includes at a customer or supplier location.
  • Must meet requirements for PPE in specific manufacturing areas when you are in those areas including safety shoes and safety glasses.
