Job Description:

 

JOB OVERVIEW

The Subrogation Specialist provides auto claim subrogation recovery for Wheels clients on the Collision Management program. Tasks will include all aspects of First Notice of Loss notifications and third-party auto damage recoveries. As a Subrogationist methods for recoveries will include negotiating with carriers, uninsured motorist direct collections, outsourcing to collection agencies, claim submission to arbitration and assisting with legal action.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Analyze and edit loss report folders to determine subrogation feasibility and establish common coding as specified by client parameters.
  • Administer claims in accordance with client profiles.
  • Assist and instruct drivers in rental, tow, and process needs as encountered.
  • Negotiate and conclude subrogation attempts.
  • Maintain a timely diary of all pending files.
  • Prepare arbitration contentions.
  • Consult claim administration staff in all aspects of daily operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position has no leadership responsibilities.

COMPETENCIES - SKILLS

  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Ability to reason and determine when it is economically feasible to take next steps related to file which may include arbitration, litigation or closing files.
  • Must be organized and possess time management skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Two (2) years auto insurance industry experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in subrogation handling and arbitration.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in customer service.
  • PC familiarity, including, but not limited to Windows environment and Lotus Notes.
  • High School Diploma required

JOB SPECIFICATIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment:  This position is Remote once individual can show competence in Wheels systems and processing of claims.  Initial training may be in the IL office.

Positions Type/Standard Schedule:  This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Travel:  Occasional travel (less than 10%) is expected for this position to visit with client. Travel for initial training may be required. 

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to operate call center tools.

Pay Range:

$42,800-$59,900

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
