Create a partnership with internal customers to assure products delivered by suppliers meet the defined specifications and are able to run through our production lines with the best possible performance, minimizing scrap and downtime while maximizing FTT and labor efficiency

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain SQ procedures that support IATF16949 requirements. Achieve a status of zero defects with materials and components delivered by suppliers.
  • Provide support to the production lines on issues related to quality of raw material – Material out of specification, material with a poor performance in the line, etc.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and review their proposed plans (example - 8D’s, control plans, FMEA’s, process flow diagrams, etc.).
  • Track supplier performance based on quality scores – supplier incidences and PPM’s.
  • Manage material in the hold area, working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to reach disposal of the parts
  • Support PPAP and APQP activities with new suppliers or new parts/processes from existing suppliers – Launch of new projects, re-sourcing activities, eSCR’s, etc.
  • Follow the strategic initiatives of the plant and be a coach of these initiatives for people in the line
  • Use of required PPE; following safety rules and procedures and training others; compliance with plant code of conduct.
  • Attendance at safety and health training sessions.
  • Housekeeping practice.
  • Perform other activities as directed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

        
         EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S.M.E. or B.S.E.E. or Business Degree.
  • 2 - 3 years automotive industry experience with strong customer interaction.
  • Must be available to travel up to 35% of the time.
     

         KEY JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems.
  • Strong process-management skills – APQP.
  • Strong understanding of IATF16949 requirements.
  • Working knowledge of incoming quality inspection; corrective action planning (8D), SPC, GD&T, SMED theory & application and FMEA.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Strong presentation and organization skills.
  • Strong project management skills (Gantt and PERT charts).
  • Strong problem-solving skills (A3, DOE, Painters chart, Fish Bone).
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry and customers.

Salary Range:

$70,400 - $96,800
