Supply Chain Director – Gotion Inc.
Location: Manteno, IL
Salary: $180,000 – $230,000
Company Overview:
Gotion, Inc. is building a state-of-the-art EV battery manufacturing facility in Manteno, IL. The plant will focus on cell, pack, and energy storage system production, creating approximately 2,600 full-time jobs and playing a strategic role in the U.S. EV battery supply chain.
Position Purpose:
Lead and execute end-to-end supply chain strategy for the Manteno facility, including demand planning, procurement, inbound/outbound logistics, inventory management, warehousing, supplier relationships, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategy aligned with plant objectives.
- Lead multi-functional teams in procurement, logistics, inventory control, warehousing, and supplier quality.
- Manage domestic and global supplier relationships.
- Oversee demand forecasting, MRP, safety stock levels, and inventory optimization.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective material flow.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping) to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and finance teams to align supply chain with business goals.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and KPIs (inventory turns, supplier on-time performance, logistics cost per unit).
- Mentor and develop supply chain team talent.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10–15 years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, preferably in high-volume manufacturing or EV/automotive industries.
- Experience managing global supply chains, sourcing strategy, logistics, and inventory management.
- Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics.
- Strong leadership, team development, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to be based in Manteno, IL, with occasional travel.
- EV battery manufacturing experience is a plus.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. This provides you with the opportunity to progress as you grow and advance your career at Gotion.
