Position Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist is a client facing role with responsibility for procurement of supplies and services for all assets owned and/or operated by Amp Americas. The incumbent will coordinate supplier onboarding, manage purchase orders from creation to close, facilitate execution of purchase contracts, negotiate vendor rates, and make sure the materials and products meet Amp’s specifications. This is an operations role including extensive interface with the engineering, asset management, finance, and project delivery teams. This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and may be assigned to other responsibilities consistent with the business needs of Amp.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Amp’s capital equipment sourcing strategies, processes/procedures and assist with the implementation of sourcing activities related to the purchase of materials or services
  • Process purchase orders for identified equipment and services and assist Accounts Payable with research on purchase orders and invoices
  • Secure contracted raw materials and work with plant employees and vendors to manage inventory
  • Support the Procurement sourcing objectives to ensure consistent quality of material and timely delivery and overall procurement improvements
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure contract obligations are being followed and overall performance improvement initiatives are supported
  • Assist with procurement reporting and with ordering plant production supplies and other work as assigned
  • Assist with developing processes and procedures in a startup environment
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and inventories match the demand requirements for Amp’s sites
  • Anticipate, identify and resolve any unforeseen problems with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality/performance
  • Maintain relationships with existing network of suppliers and service providers
  • Assist with research, identification, and development of relationships with new sources of suppliers and service providers for the company that meet criteria including (but not limited to) account setup, price, quantity, quality, and timeliness

Required Skills / Abilities / Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of procurement experience including inventory, vendor outreach and invoice management
  • BA degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain Management (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement, material management, logistics and sourcing from organizational, procedural and ERP systems management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and project management skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a positive attitude and resilience in the face of challenging circumstances
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Process oriented, flexibility in a growing environment and eagerness to learn
  • Supply Chain Certification CSCP, CPIM, CPSM (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and ERP system(s) (NetSuite preferred)
