Job Description

SVP - Data Analytics Leader, Marketing Data Products & Platforms (DPP)

At U.S. Bank, we are committed to driving forward with a customer-first approach. We empower our clients with data-driven insights and seamless experiences, ensuring they thrive in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. Our Marketing Data team is at the heart of this transformation, leveraging advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and customer-centric insights to shape the future of financial services.

Position Summary

The Marketing Data Products & Platforms (DPP) Leader is accountable for building and operating the analytics ecosystem that powers enterprise and line-of-business decisioning. This includes leading analytics platforms, driving cloud modernization, and scaling a “data as a product” operating model for Marketing.

This role owns a portfolio spanning data products, platform engineering and cloud environments, as well as governance and enablement—with a mandate to make trusted, reusable “gold” data assets the default path for analytics consumption and measurable business outcomes.

This leader will define and execute an integrated roadmap across platform and data product modernization, advancing core capabilities in governance, data quality, observability, metadata and lineage, and operational excellence to ensure platforms are reliable, secure, and broadly adopted.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Data Strategy & Operating Model

  • Define and lead the multi-year DPP strategy and roadmap across platforms, data products, and analytics enablement
  • Mature and scale a data-as-a-product model, including ownership, lifecycle management, SLAs, and adoption
  • Align analytics investments to business priorities, long-term value creation, and financial performance

Data Platforms & Modernization

  • Own end-to-end analytics platform operations (availability, performance, security, and cost)
  • Lead cloud modernization and reduce legacy dependency and technical debt
  • Enable secure, governed deployment of AI/ML and advanced analytics capabilities

Data Products & Insights Delivery

  • Deliver and scale reusable, curated “gold” data products with clear ownership, quality standards, and service levels
  • Partner with business leaders to identify and prioritize high-impact analytics use cases
  • Translate data into actionable insights that drive measurable business outcomes

Governance, Quality & Trust

  • Operationalize governance and “quality by design” across data ecosystems (access, stewardship, controls)
  • Advance capabilities in data quality, observability, metadata, and lineage
  • Ensure compliance, reliability, and trust in enterprise analytics environments

Business Partnership & Influence

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders on analytics, insights, and data-driven decision-making
  • Build deep understanding of line-of-business goals, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Communicate executive-ready updates, clearly articulating tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies

Operational Excellence & Adoption

  • Drive platform reliability, monitoring, incident response, and service excellence
  • Drive enterprise adoption of self-service analytics, data democratization, and data literacy
  • Ensure platforms and products are usable, scalable, and broadly adopted—not just delivered

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across data engineering, analytics, and BI
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
  • Oversee external partners and vendors to ensure delivery against strategic outcomes

What Success Looks Like

  • Establish the primary enterprise analytics ecosystem, widely adopted across the business
  • Make “gold” data products the default source of truth, reducing duplication and increasing reuse
  • Deliver a balanced roadmap across platform modernization, data product scale, and governance maturity
  • Enable consistent, high-quality insights that drive strategic and operational decisions
  • Strengthen operational rigor across reliability, resilience, compliance, and performance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or related)
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in business insights and data analytics

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Leadership & Strategic Capabilities

  • Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
  • 15+ years of experience in data analytics, platforms, or data product leadership, including senior leadership experience
  • Experience within Consumer and Business Banking or financial services
  • Proven success leading enterprise data platform and cloud modernization initiatives
  • Experience establishing and scaling data product operating models (ownership, SLAs, lifecycle)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior executives and influence business strategy through data and analytics
  • Strong executive communication skills with a focus on clarity, decision-making, and impact
  • Strategic mindset with strengths in prioritization, tradeoff management, and value creation
  • Track record of driving enterprise data adoption and culture transformation

Technical & Domain Expertise

  • Experience with modern cloud and analytics platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Proficiency in analytics and BI tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, SAS, Alteryx)
  • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, pipelines, orchestration, cloud migration)
  • Experience applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science techniques
  • Expertise in data governance, data quality, and metadata/lineage practices, including supporting tools at scale
