Our Systems Engineer will work directly with customers and prospects as a product specialist on all Data Theorem technologies and solutions. As a subject matter expert, the SE will seek to understand the problems our customers face in the areas of API, mobile, web, and cloud security. The SE will evaluate and recommend specific Data Theorem products that deliver maximum value to customers. Further, the SE will identify when there is not a technical fit between the customer’s problems and Data Theorem solutions. The role will also proactively identify new opportunities impacting the market and work closely with internal teams to address them.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations and sales presentations that explain key technical aspects of solutions that will benefit customers and prospects.

  • Work with product and sales teams to interpret customer requirements and deliver solutions with the end-goal of a successful deal as the primary outcome.

  • Work with business partners like Google, Amazon, and Microsoft in our on-going go-to-market efforts for co-selling through their respective cloud marketplaces.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of what the customer will need in terms of on-going service, and manage expectations on the customer and sales side.

  • Provide answers to client questions about our product, servicing, and other technical aspects of the product and underlying Analyzer Engine.

  • Successfully tailor demonstrations for customers, trade shows, and special events.

  • Work closely with the customer to set up and maintain a successful trial period, being available to answer questions and trouble-shoot as needed.

  • Be able to think critically and suggest improvements that might lead to cost savings or other client benefits.

  • Be able to make suggestions and recommendations on new features to improve the products, shorten sales cycles, increase adoption, and/or deliver more value.

  • Understand the competitive landscape of both direct and indirect competitors in the application security and cloud security industry.

  • Research the security industry on an on-going basis to know what changes may be on the horizon that will impact current and future sales.

  • Arrange and, in some cases, lead training for customers.

  • Work with the clients to problem-solve through every technical hurdle during the sales process.

Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role in the Security and/or Cloud Space

  • Strong ability to quickly comprehend and explain complex engineering concepts in simple, effective terms.

  • Ability to work in concert with team members to build the most effective presentations that blend technical facts with tangible benefits.

  • Proven sales skills with an eye for results.

  • Superlative communication skills with the ability to navigate a wide range of internal and external environments.

  • Coaching skills to help co-workers quickly understand and explain new and emerging technical concepts.

  • Strong networker who can reach out to customers and clients to offer support and assistance.

  • Industry insider who understands current trends and anticipates change.
