Job Description

This Engineer will work with a team primarily focused on providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration and testing of hardware/software systems. We offer an exciting work environment which provides unique opportunities and challenges to candidates. 

Designing, configuring, configuring and ensuring effective support of all LAN/WAN, virtualized servers and VoIP telephony infrastructure across multiple North American facilities.

Creating and maintaining high-effective security for vulnerability management, monitoring frameworks and solutions to protect IT infrastructure.

Generating all related IT roadmaps to ensure alignment of systems and infrastructure to business objectives, IT Service Management best practices and implementing innovative solutions.

Maintaining open and accurate open communications with management and other IT support personnel to achieve strong team cohesiveness and optimal support to the business.

Ensuring and/or delivering effective operational support of related systems and infrastructure 16x6 for all business-critical systems.

This position may require some travel.

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Technology, related field OR equivalent work experience 

MS degree preferred

10+ years experience in IT technology planning and/or support roles.

Experience networking Cisco hardware and firewalls with strong knowledge of Layer 2 technologies including Spanning-Tree, VLANs, VTP, UDLD, VDC and CPD

Direct experience implementing and supporting data replication within a LAN and between data center to support disaster recovery/business continuity

Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, CITRIX and related tuning/load balancing functionality

Experience using Microsoft Windows Server and VMware VSphere 4.x/5.x platform including design, implementation and management of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS

Capable in providing tier III / IV support for following infrastructure: CISCO Network Hardware, VMware VSphere and Windows Server 2008/2012 

Ability to prioritize operational and project workload, demonstrating initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to travel to local offices as required--must have own transportation 

Overnight travel approximately 20%
