About the Role
Attentive is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Tax Manager to join our Tax team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Tax, this individual will play a key role in supporting all aspects of Attentive’s tax function, including tax accounting, compliance, planning, and strategic initiatives.
As the Tax Manager, you will help build scalable processes to support Attentive’s continued growth while partnering cross-functionally across Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical tax expertise with process improvement, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Assist in the preparation and review of Attentive’s ASC 740 tax provision, including effective tax rate calculations, deferred tax assets and liabilities, and uncertain tax positions.
- Act as a key reviewer and contributor in direct and indirect tax compliance processes, including federal, state, local, sales/use, and other tax filings.
- Prepare and review tax supporting documentation and workpapers to ensure accurate and timely compliance and reporting.
- Research, analyze, and draft technical memoranda on a variety of federal, state, and international tax matters.
- Support strategic tax planning initiatives, including tax forecasting, modeling, R&D credits, and other tax optimization opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate the tax implications of business initiatives, transactions, and operational changes.
- Support external tax audits and inquiries, including coordination with auditors and taxing authorities.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess potential impacts to Attentive's tax position and compliance requirements.
- Help drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and tax technology enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Support ad hoc tax projects and special initiatives in partnership with the Senior Director of Tax.
Your Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) strongly preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive corporate tax experience within a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and accounting for income taxes.
- Experience with federal, state, and local tax compliance, as well as sales/use and other indirect taxes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform technical tax research and translate complex tax concepts into practical business recommendations.
- Experience supporting tax planning, forecasting, and strategic tax initiatives.
- High attention to detail with the ability to drive projects to completion in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience supporting audits and interacting with external auditors and taxing authorities.
- Experience within a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company environment is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, research, conceptual, and planning skills.
- Ability to self-motivate, be proactive, and function independently.
- Must be highly hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and responsibilities.

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000 - $150,000 annually + equity + benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location#LI-AL1
