Who are we?

IOG, is a technology company focused on Blockchain research and development. We are renowned for our scientific approach to blockchain development, emphasizing peer-reviewed research and formal methods to ensure security, scalability, and sustainability. Our projects include decentralized finance (DeFi), governance, and identity management, aiming to advance the capabilities and adoption of blockchain technology globally.

We invest in the unknown, applying our curiosity and desire for positive change to everything we do. By fueling creativity, innovation, and progress within our teams, our products and services are designed for people to be fearless, to be changemakers.

What the role involves:

This role sits at the intersection of governance design, technical architecture, and data-driven decision making. As a Enterprise Architect, you will play a key role in ensuring technical governance systems are designed in alignment with business and security requirements, and support decision making with relevant data from web2 and web3 sources.

In addition to a foundational understanding of web3 architectures, this role requires an eagerness to understand exactly how the technology works for both Web2 and Web3 systems across different projects. You will act as a bridge between technical delivery teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights, accessible explanations and spotting inconsistencies between design and implementation.

Your work will influence the design of governance tooling, decision-making processes, and overall system architecture, ensuring governance systems are grounded in user needs and technical realities.

  • Work with technical stakeholders to fully understand the technical system being governed as well as the design and implementation of governance features and tools.
  • Work with business stakeholders to fully understand the governance design and provide relevant technical knowledge to inform the design.
  • Bridge communications between technical and business stakeholders to generate a shared understanding and reduce delivery risks.
  • Support governance tooling requirements by providing architectural context, technical tradeoffs, and relevant data.
  • Analyze and document governance tools and related systems (e.g., blockchains, smart contracts, APIs, wallets, voting dApps)
  • Gather and clean on-chain/off-chain data (with and without APIs) to guide governance design and understand performance
  • Gather, clean and organize data using consistent infrastructure
  • Adhere to relevant data regulations (ex, GDPR)

The above list of responsibilities is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation.

Requirements

Who you are:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrable 3 + years of experience in software architecture and/or development
  • Experience delivering across the entire software development lifecycle
  • Experience working in open-source development projects
  • Working knowledge of credential management best practices
  • Proficient in gathering data from Web2 and Web3 systems, with and without APIs
  • Demonstrates a natural curiosity and commitment to ongoing learning, particularly in decentralized technologies and systems
  • Technically literate with the ability to understand and think in systems, while effectively communicating at the right level of detail for different stakeholders
  • Works well in teams and proactively contributes ideas and solutions; takes ownership and drives progress without waiting for direction
  • Ability to work in complex and evolving environments; able to navigate uncertainty and synthesize clarity from ambiguity
  • Motivated by delivering meaningful outcomes and contributing to high-impact work in the decentralized ecosystem
