Travel Pay Analyst - Subject Matter Expert.

BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a Travel Pay Analyst. The Travel Pay Analyst serves as the GSMO subject matter expert for travel pay, overseeing travel entitlements and serving as the Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) for assigned personnel supporting USSF part-time participants.

Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.

 

What will you do

The Travel Pay Analyst serves as the GSMO subject matter expert for travel pay, overseeing travel entitlements and serving as the Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) for assigned personnel supporting USSF part-time participants.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Process travel entitlements, including but not limited to per diem, lodging, and mileage, in accordance with the JTR and other governing policies.

·         Oversee travel pay services for USSF part-time participants.

·         Provide assistance with the Defense Travel System (DTS).

·         Assist with Air Force Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserve (AROWS-R) order requests for participants in Annual Tour, Inactive Duty Training, and Active Duty for Operational Support statuses.

·         Serve as the LDTA for all assigned personnel.

·         Review travel vouchers for payment.

·         Monitor UTAPS for accuracy; monitor workflow, manage workload distribution, and ensure timely customer support.

·         Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial management regulations; support inspections, audits, and readiness requirements.

Requirements:

·         Serves as a subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of business and/or financial operations occupations.

·         Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

·         Bachelor's degree in a field related to the tasking (e.g., finance, accounting, business administration, or related discipline).

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC); must meet background investigation requirements to access controlled unclassified information (CUI) and DoD facilities.

·         Working knowledge of the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and DAFI 65-series regulations.

·         Required systems experience: Defense Travel System (DTS); Reserve Travel System (RTS); Air Force Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserve (AROWS-R); UTAPS monitoring; and Lead Defense Travel Administrator (LDTA) experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Direct U.S. Air Force (USAF) travel pay experience is strongly preferred and considered the most valuable form of related experience.

·         Current or prior LDTA certification/appointment.

·         Experience supporting Reserve Component travel and orders processing.

 

Work Authorization/ Clearance:

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC); must meet background investigation requirements to access controlled unclassified information (CUI) and DoD facilities.
